Best Spots in Manchester for a Good Old Drink

I'm surprised I've never really covered this before, but in the past year I've ventured out a bit and gone around town looking for the best places for a drink, from cocktails to ciders there's a range of places across Manchester that deserve a bit of a spotlight. I like a mixture of drinks and there's nothing worse than going to a new bar and choosing the same drink you have everywhere else, I like to try something different each time. So if you're looking for a new place to grab a drink take note of where am about to mention, from the Northern Quarter to Spinningfields.

First up, is Jimmy's if you're into the more indie scene of Manchester this is a great place to check out. They have a great range of cocktails, great music that you can't miss and they house a lot of gigs around the year. Some of my best gigs from the past year have been at Jimmy's and it's somewhere you really can't miss. It's a bit different to the rest on the lis…

The best of 2014 - Makeup

Hello everyone

This post is my last post of 2014, it has been an insane year and to me it has gone so fast. In this post I will be mentioning the products that for me have made 2014. This is a collection of products consisting of foundation, concealers, lipsticks, and others.

So I will be doing it in random order, starting off with what for me have been the best foundations this year. I have been really impressed by some and there have been foundations that just haven't made me think of it as the best foundation of the year. The first one I have been loving the the L'Oreal True Match foundation £9.99 this was a new discovery for me, I had seen a lot of good reviews on it so I decided to try it out for my self and it definitely is good. It says it's a true match for your skin and it honestly is, after applying it sinks into the skin so that is matches up with your skin tone which is the one of the things I love the most about this foundation. It has a medium coverage and te…

Brand Review - Bourjois

Hello everyone

This is my final brand review and I have really enjoyed the series. However it does have to end at some point. I have been a huge fan of Bourjois for quite some time. They are a slightly more expensive brand compared to the rest of the brands in the drugstore but you pay for amazing quality products.

As always I will be mentioning three products from the brand that for me stand out the most. I will be mentioning two products that have previously been on this blog and a new product that I am yet to review on this blog.

Bourjois Délice de Poudre bronzing powder & highlighter £7.99- This is a product that I have mentioned before I did a review on it focusing mainly on the bronzer. I adore the bronzer and have done for some time. You can have it subtle or built up, personally I like it fairly subtle. With this one you get half bronzer and half highlighter for the same price as getting a full one of either the bronzer or highlighter. Again I am also a huge fan of the highl…

Best Drugstore Brow Gel? - Rimmel Brow This Way Clear Brow Gel Review

Hello everyone

This week I am reviewing a product that has been fairly controversial recently. It is the Rimmel Brow Clear Gel. I picked this up in boots around August time as I wanted a new brow gel to try out. I have read many reviews of people loving and hating this product and after using it for a while I finally have my verdict on it.

The gel is clear meaning it can be used to help shape brows and help them stay in place. I usually fill in my brows then use this to make sure it stays in place. I have been using this product almost everyday since August and I am almost gone there is a little drop left so I am definitely in need of a boots trip.

But does it actually work? my answer is yes. For me this is perfect the applicator isn't too big or too small so it manages to get all my brow hairs. One thing I will say is that for the few couple of uses you do need to wipe the applicator a bit as it does have too much gel on it which gives a watery effect.

The gel works at keeping my b…

Is it that good? - Sanctuary 5 Minute Thermal Detox Mask Review

Hello everyone

This week I am reviewing a mask that has been reviewed and mention by so many people this past year. It is the Sanctuary 5 Minute Detox Mask. The mask is aimed at people with oily and acne prone skin, and after you use it the mask is meant to help you have perfectly clean and purified skin.

The mask is a thermal mask which is not everybody's favorite. As not everyone likes the idea of the mask heating up and your skin feeling warm but the mask is meant to be on the skin for around 5 minutes in which it heats up for about a minute and then gradually cools down.

The mask is not one that you can just throw onto the skin you have to massage and work it in for it to work effectively. One of the key things is to make sure your skin is clean and free of any makeup as the mask will not work as well otherwise.

The mask retails for £10.50 which I find to be reasonable considering you get 100ml and you do not require a lot when you use it. The mask can be bought from Boots or the…

Brand Review - Barry M

Hello everyone

This week I will be doing a brand review on Barry M. I have been an all round fan of Barry M for quite some time I am a huge fan of their nail polishes as well as a few other products. Barry M is a cheap and affordable brand available in most drugstores such as Boots and Superdrug.

I will be mentioning a few of their products that I have absolutely loved from the brand. All of the products are high quality and affordable. And are a lot better than some of the products I have tried compared to them.

Barry M Gelly Nail Polish £3.99 - This has been a nail polish that I have mentioned quite a lot on this blog but it is just a good one. It gives that gelly effect and does tend to last quite well. It does require 2 coats and it is always best if you apply a base coat underneath. If I was to compare this to Gellish nails which are more expensive but do last for several weeks the finish really is the same except Barry M doesn't last as long but is a better and cheaper alterna…

Brand Review - L'Oreal

Hello everyone

This week I am doing a brand review on a makeup line that for me is almost as good as the High street makeup brands if not better, this is L'Oreal. I have been in love with L'Oreal for an awful long time yet I have never really tried a lot of their products. However the products that I have tried I have loved so I am going to be sharing with you a few of their products I really enjoy.

L'Oreal True Match Foundation £9.99 - I have mentioned this foundation before, for me this is a flawless foundation it gives a medium but build able coverage and looks nice and fairly natural on the skin. As the name suggests this is a true match I am currently using a shade that is slightly darker than my skin tone but it matches to your skin tone which is something special really. After trying this I realized that it is a dupe to the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk foundation which I have done a post about here. Lastly the price, for just under £10 you get an amazing foundation t…

Is it good? - Sudocrem Skin Care Cream Review

Hello everyone

This week I have decided to review a product that came out a couple of months ago, it is the Sudocrem Skin Care Cream. I have used Sudocrem in the past for spots and I had noticed that it worked but if used to much made my skin very oily. So when I found out they had created one designed specifically for skin, and spots I was very eager to try it.

The cream comes in a handy little tube which in my opinion is exactly what I needed as it can get quite messy having to get the product out of a pot. The product is easy to massage into the skin and you only require a tiny amount.

I tend to mainly use this on my spots and apply a thin smooth layer over my spots and the skin around it, this helps to reduce redness and helps to get rid of the spots a little bit quicker. The cream is definitely an overnight one, wait until morning and it has dried and has worked on your spots. So I would not recommend using this in the morning as you do have to wait a while for it to sink in.

Brand Review - Maybelline

Hello everyone

This week I am doing a brand review on Maybelline, I have not tried many products from Maybelline the products that I have heard about and tried have been really good. I will be mentioning three products that I really like from Maybelline.

Maybelline is an inexpensive makeup brand, there products are reasonably priced and do not break the bank at all. Sometimes there are offers on Maybelline products in Boots and Superdrug. Now onto the three products that I have loved from this brand.

Maybelline 7 Days Nail Polish £4.49 - This nail polish collection I have fell in love with, they have the nicest shades to choose from that aren't watery and sit perfect on my nails. This nail polish definitely has the gel effect and tends to last for 5-6 days without me applying a top coat. There is one shade in particular that I have loved from this range and it is Uptown Blue. The shade is a gorgeous baby blue which I absolutely love. I will agree that these nail polishes are more ex…

Hair saviour?- Tresemme Luxurious Moisture Shampoo Review

Hello everyone

So as you may be able to guess from the title I am reviewing a shampoo, I don't do a lot of hair care reviews mainly because I do not really change my hair care routine or products a lot as I don't like to irritate my scalp.

However a couple of months ago I found that my hair was not the same anymore it was dull and didn't look right so I decided to try a new shampoo. I am going to be using a different conditioner soon (please suggest any good conditioners please.) I picked up the Tresemme Luxurious Moisture Shampoo.

The shampoo claims to nourish hair giving it a nice healthy looking shine, it is packed with Vitamins to help your hair. It also claims to be useable day in day out without drying hair out which I was a bit shocked about really.

The shampoo is a wonder product, I noticed after a week of using this how much of a difference it had made my hair was shiny and after two weeks looked healthy and back to how I wanted it to look. One of the things I notice…

Under £35 Gift Guide - For Girls

Hello everyone

So this actually my first post on anything Christmas related and seeing that I am an absolute lover of Christmas I have decided to try and a do a few posts around the idea of Christmas whether it is gift guides like the post I am doing today or whether it is DIY Christmas decorations etc. If you have any suggestions then please feel free to comment them down below.

Anyway getting onto this post, I wanted to do a gift guide as I was in Superdrug the other day and I was making a mental wish-list of the things I would love to have this Christmas. This led me to decided to do a gift guide specifically for girls. Now I know the title says under £35 but the gifts will be around £25 but there will be a more indulgent gift that is around the £35 mark.

I have chosen a few gifts that come from all different shops such as the Body shop, and Superdrug. I will be mentioning presents that you could use as stocking fillers or just main presents. All of the presents will be either skincar…
