Day to Day - Makeup

Day to day face,

I'm at that teenager stage of life, where my skin decides to change every two seconds and I have about 3 days within each month where my skin is good. So this post explains what makeup I wear everyday in attempt to make my face look a lot better.

First off, primer. Sometimes I feel like I don't necessarily need a primer but for the past month I have been using a primer everyday and I have noticed a difference massively in how my makeup looks with and without a primer. The primer I have currently been trying is the Rimmel Lasting Finish Primer. This primer claims to extend the wear of foundation for up to 8 hours. From what I have seen this primer has definitely helped the longevity of my foundation, but for up to 8 hours is debatable.

Foundation, after I have applied my primer and it has sunk into my skin it is on to foundation, I have recently been using the L'Oreal Infallible 24 Hour Matte foundation in the shade Vanilla (11.) This foundation has been a favorite of mine since it first came out. For someone who suffers from oily skin like myself this foundation does a fairly decent job at mattifying the face. I normally blend this into the skin using a stippling brush.

Concealer, now this isn't an everyday crucial step for me but more often than not if needed I will apply a little bit of concealer to my face. Focusing mainly on any spots or red patches that my foundation has not fully concealed. I have recently been trying the Seventeen Stay Time concealer. This concealer claims to have up to 18 hour wear on the face. Again I am not really sure that it lasts this long as I have never needed to wear any makeup for 18 hours or longer but it does seem to last for up to around 10 hours without me needing to touch it up.

Brows, my brows seem to change more than the weather. I can have days when they both look good and similar. But sadly  for most days I have one amazing brow and the other one looking like a good runner up. I don't tend to do an awful lot with my brows. I am not a full fan of the whole brow craze so I tend to just fill them in and shape them slightly. I have been managing to do this thanks to the Soap and Glory Brow Archery in the shade Brownie Points. This brow product offers a brow tint on one end and a brow shaping precision pencil on the other end. After I have done my brows I like to use a brow primer just to make sure they stay in place by using my all time favorite Rimmel Brow This Way brow primer in clear. For £3.99 this helps to make sure my brows stay in place for almost the whole day.

Bronzer and higlighter, now I am not a full fan of the whole contour obession. Mainly because I just can't get the hang of it properly. So I do my similar alternative, just sweeping a small amount of the Maybelline Master Sculpt Contour kit bronzer over my forehead and the sides of my face. Then following this up by using the highlighter that comes with the kit and lightly sweeping it on my cheekbones.

Powder, after I have pretty much applied everything to my face I like to help set it and tackle any oil by applying powder. I have been using my old love the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in Transparent. This helps to keep my foundation in place for about 4 ish hours before I need to touch it up.

Eyes, this is probably the part where my concentration is tested the most. For my eyes I normally just apply mascara and eyeliner and a bit of eyeshadow every now and then. But recently I have mainly been focusing on just mascara and eyeliner. For eyeliner I have been using the Soap and Glory Supercat Eyeliner, and let me tell you this eyeliner is amazing. It doesn't go faint or smudge throughout the day and no matter how lightly I apply it the eyeliner is still this jet black colour. And for only £6 I was highly impressed at how good it is.

Moving mascara I have been trying out the Maybelline Lash Sensational Multiplying Waterproof Mascara, a new mascara from the Maybelline range that I have been in love with. I am a lover of big long lashes for as long as I can remember and this mascara ticks every box for that. As I have fairly long eyelashes anyway I only need to apply about one coat before my lashes are how I want them.

So that is everything, all the makeup I apply pretty much everyday to my face. I am planning on doing a full post on each product I have mentioned in this post at some point.
