Best Spots in Manchester for a Good Old Drink

I'm surprised I've never really covered this before, but in the past year I've ventured out a bit and gone around town looking for the best places for a drink, from cocktails to ciders there's a range of places across Manchester that deserve a bit of a spotlight. I like a mixture of drinks and there's nothing worse than going to a new bar and choosing the same drink you have everywhere else, I like to try something different each time. So if you're looking for a new place to grab a drink take note of where am about to mention, from the Northern Quarter to Spinningfields.

First up, is Jimmy's if you're into the more indie scene of Manchester this is a great place to check out. They have a great range of cocktails, great music that you can't miss and they house a lot of gigs around the year. Some of my best gigs from the past year have been at Jimmy's and it's somewhere you really can't miss. It's a bit different to the rest on the lis…

Garnier Moisture Match Mattifying Moisturizer Review

I have combination skin, some days it can be great not a single blemish and hardly any oil. But recently my skin has become a lot more oilier and I have spots reoccurring every now and then. So I wanted to start treating my skin better, I repurchased some of my spot treatments and finally decided to change moisturizers.

After looking through Boots for about 15 minutes I came across the new range from Garnier their 'moisture match' moisturizers. There are 5 moisturizers from this range in total. Ranging from a moisturizer to battle oily skin and one to help wake up the skin. I picked up the Moisture Match Shine be gone mattifying moisturiser from the range.

The moisturiser has a weird texture at first it feels almost like a gel, with a cooling almost cucumber like scent. I found that you only really needed just more than a pea size amount however at times a lot of product would come out at once.

It takes around 2 minutes I would say for it to fully sink into the skin, I found that the mattifying one did manage to tackle some of my oil however I would still require some powder just to cover up the remaining oil.

The packaging is simple as is most of Garnier's products, you get 50ml which for me is slightly disappointing. As I found that within about 2/3 weeks I was all out of it which meant I had to repurchase this again as I like to test skincare products properly for at least a month. But seeing as the moisturizers were on an introductory offer of £2, normally £3.99 I didn't mind paying that tiny amount just to carry on using it.

In terms of 24 hours moisture I cannot really say as I don't suffer from oily skin but I always reapply the moisturiser in the morning and at night regardless just to make sure that my skin is moisturized. I found that after using this for just over a month my skin's oiliness was under control a lot more. I still need to use a little bit of powder so I wouldn't exactly call it a wonder product but it does work well at keeping my skin moisturised and for the price I am quite pleased with this.

If you have tried this or any of the other moisturizers in the range then feel free to comment below mentioning your thoughts or recommendations. I am hoping to start posting every Wednesday and Sunday just to keep it into a routine for when I go back to college.

Until next time, Chloe
