Best Spots in Manchester for a Good Old Drink

Image
I'm surprised I've never really covered this before, but in the past year I've ventured out a bit and gone around town looking for the best places for a drink, from cocktails to ciders there's a range of places across Manchester that deserve a bit of a spotlight. I like a mixture of drinks and there's nothing worse than going to a new bar and choosing the same drink you have everywhere else, I like to try something different each time. So if you're looking for a new place to grab a drink take note of where am about to mention, from the Northern Quarter to Spinningfields.

First up, is Jimmy's if you're into the more indie scene of Manchester this is a great place to check out. They have a great range of cocktails, great music that you can't miss and they house a lot of gigs around the year. Some of my best gigs from the past year have been at Jimmy's and it's somewhere you really can't miss. It's a bit different to the rest on the lis…

Love Your body

Today we can spend so much time idolizing celebrities such as Kylie Jenner or Kim Kardashian. Admiring their 'flawless' bodies and effortlessly beautiful face. We start to forget about our real beauty and focus on all the negatives in us.

I speak from experience with this, I have spent days looking in the mirror hating the body that I have. But I have never been one to just walk away from the mirror and do nothing, I got up again and made a plan.

If I wanted to be more confident with my body it was time to treat it with some tlc. I am not asking to become the next Kylie Jenner just to become a more confident me. Confidence can't be achieved by doing a few steps it has to come within. Whether this is wearing clothes that compliment your body more or by exercising more and looking after yourself better.

This is what I started to do, I have never really had time to sign up for a gym so I didn't want to get heavily involved in exercise. I mainly focused on my diet, I was so used to coming home stuffing my face then eating rubbish day after day.

So that week when we did the weekly shop I stocked up on healthier alternatives, bought flavored water rather than pepsi. Swapped the chips for rice and pasta and just generally looked more closely at what I was eating.

Now in no way was this easy, I was still enticed by the packet of crisp in the cupboard every time I went in to get my cereal bars. But you have to remember that you have a goal. I started this around June and since then I have lost just over 1 and a half stone. But more importantly for me I fit into clothes much nicer. I went from verging on a size 14 jeans to size 10/12 and all my old t shirts that were mediums are all getting a bit baggy for me now.

I am not saying that I am truly transformed and in no way am I beach body ready but I feel much better about myself. And it really makes me now feel much better about what I do. I still have a way to go to get exactly how I want but now I just need to start looking at the exercise part and then I should be on my way to my goal then.

In terms of my skin, since I started being healthier my skin has improved massively. I have actually stopped wearing foundation now and just using the odd bit of concealer and a little bit of bronzer and powder. Which for me is a massive step, it makes me appreciate the natural me more rather than what I look like after everything else is applied to my face.

What I am trying to get at, is that you are who you are. Whether you feel like you are at your best you are you. Tone down the celebrity stalking and start to appreciate you for you.

I know this post is a little different to what I normally do, I just wanted to try and mix it up a little bit. Add a bit more personality to this blog!

Until next time, Chloe!
