February Favorites - Makeup and Skincare

Image
For makeup and skincare this month hasn't really changed an awful lot. I am testing a few products out at the moment that I will leave out for a few posts. So I am going to be talking about 3 products that I have been reaching for constantly throughout this month.

First up is the L'oreal Color Riche Lipstick in J'Lo's Nude. Now I am a big fan of Nude lips. I love that this shade is a nude with a slight pink tone to it. As I am fake tanning a little at the moment this helps to add a little bit of color to my face complimenting my more tanned skin. This has a creamy finish that lasts all day on the lips. If you are wearing this for all day use I would suggest some lipbalm on before applying this as after a few hours this can be a little drying but either way this is a good drugstore lipstick.

Next up is the MUA Color corrector concealer palette. Color correcting has become a big trend recently and when I saw this for £4 in Superdrug I had to pick it up. My favourite ones…

The Weightless Coverage Concealer - Urban Decay

Image
Urban Decay are well known for their gorgeous palettes. The pigmentation to how long they last is just incredible. I had never actually tried any of their face products. So around the Christmas sales I picked up the Urban Decay Naked Concealer in the shade Light Warm.
This concealer claims to have a Weightless coverage no matter how much you apply. It continues to blend into the skin without settling into any fine lines. It also has Japanese green tea. This revitalizes and helps reduce the appearance  of fine lines and giving a brighter, more radiant complexion. The   formula is enriched with Matrixyl 3000, green tea, Litchiderm™ (derived from lychee fruit) and sodium hyaluronate.
After using this for around 3 months, I have been beyond impressed with this concealer. This was the first high street concealer I have tried and the amount of coverage it gives off is beautiful. I have always struggled with completely concealing my spots but this helps a long way towards that.
As it claims y…

Cute Bedroom Decor Ideas

Image
For the past few months I have been trying to redecorate my room. From adding fairy lights to my bed to even now redecorating my fireplace. I feel like I have finally got it sorted in some style that I am honestly quite proud of.
As I have just ordered a new set of lights for my bed. There will be a post on them soon. But today it's all about the Fireplace. As I still have the original fireplace in my bedroom that we have closed in. I really wanted to take advantage of the fireplace as it is this perfect cream colour that blends well with my room.
Sadly it wasn't wide enough to use as somewhere to place all my makeup so instead I have used it for decorative purposes. I didn't want to just let the space go to waste. My plan wasn't to go overboard either so the decorations are fairly simple.
The first decoration is a perfume. This is my favorite perfume of all time the My Burberry perfume. This is actually my second bottle of this, I just love the scent and it is such a …

The Drugstore Pro Concealer

Image
L.A Pro are an American makeup brand that I hadn't heard of until I started watching Glam Life Guru on Youtube. This is an inexpensive drugstore brand that offers a variety of products aiming to suit everyone. As I had never tried this brand before I only wanted to try one thing to start with. I picked up the L.A Pro concealer in the shade Natural.
I am a huge fan of high coverage, I have a lot of redness and spots that most foundations and concealers don't really cover it all the way that I would like. This concealer claims to provide a natural looking coverage whilst masking dark circles and redness.
I have been testing this out for over 2 months now, seeing how it works when my skin has a lot of spots compared to when my skin is quite calm. In either of these situations the concealer works well.

With the spots I find that it gives a good coverage but doesn't exactly cover them completely. This is without having to use any color corrector so really it doesn't do that b…

H&M Lip Collection Review And Swatches

Image
A few months back H&M released their very own makeup range. After falling in love with their eyeshadows I decided to go back the other day and finally try some more products from the range. The range offers almost everything from foundation to nail polish there really is something for everyone.
For this trip I set out for lips, the liquid lipstick craze has become popular at the moment so I wanted to see if they had any that could help me get into that trend. This leads us to the first product the H&M  Velvet Lip Cream in Enchante. Now the product and formula are great, they give off the creamy velvet lipstick look. Although it does feel a little drying and the lipstick can settle a bit too much on the lips it is still an okay product. My issues are with two things, first off the shades. I picked up the shade Enchante and seeing as there were no testers for this one I took a risk. The packaging makes it look like this nudey pink that I would probably love. It's bright pink…

4 Drugstore Palettes You Need

Image
Palettes have been a love of mine for a while. After searching high and low in the drugstore for palettes that tick all the boxes I have managed to find 4 so far that seriously surprised me.

Up first is almost a famous product to this blog, I won't dwell on it too long but it's the Makeup Revolution Iconic Pro 2 Palette. This is palette includes 16 shades, with matte to shimmers day to night shades that are highly pigmented and blendable. For £6.99 you might as well try it out or their other palettes by Makeup Revolution.

The next palette is one I recently picked up. This is a mini 4 shadow palette by Revlon. This is a nude based palette including a base shade that blends really nice to create a good base for the rest of your eyeshadow. It also features this silver shade that has a slight shimmer to it. I like to use this and the brown and black shades in the crease and blending them out to create a smokey eye. This mini palette just allows me to make a quick netural eye look if…

The Best Lightweight Foundation There Is? Bourjois Air Mat Foundation

Image
A foundation should be one of many things long lasting, blendable, and good coverage. When I am testing out foundations I am always looking at the coverage. It should still look natural but should
help mask my spots.

I have found a number of foundations that do this well and today's post is about the latest one. Bourjois Air Mat foundation, the first actual foundation I have tried from Bourjois. This claims to give a 24 coverage which actually lasts around 10 hours before you really ought to touch it up. Even 10 hours is good for a drugstore foundation.

The foundation claims to allow the skin to breathe whilst giving a non-drying matte look. Avoiding the 'face mask' look that can happen with some foundations. Their claims are all filled in perfectly.

When applying this the foundation blends really quickly into the skin, you do have to spend an extra bit of time on the nose and eye area but the finish is lightweight it made my face feel like it had nothing on it. The founda…
