Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipsticks Hit or Miss

If you have never heard of Jeffree Stars Velour Liquid Lipsticks then allow me to educate you. Jeffree is an internet hit from having a previous music career to creating his own makeup and clothing line. He is a controversial person but my review today is going to be on his liquid lipsticks. I own two currently, one of his most famous and sold out shades Androgny and Posh Spice.

Focusing on Androgny this is a weird shade to describe, it's in between that red/mauve shade that has a slight pink undertone to it. If you have ever seen any of my previous posts you will know that I love experimenting with weird colours and this is a new one to add to my list. This goes on quite soft and before drying it feels like a lipstick. It takes a good 20 seconds to try so I normally apply a little bit of setting spray to my face whilst this dries. Once it has dried down the colour is brilliant. It is a rock hard matte that isn't too bright or out there. The look is subtle but with it being such an unusual shade it works.

Moving onto Posh Spice this is at the other end of the spectrum. It is this gorgeous grey toned shade that has a slight hint of purple into it. This reminds me of Cashmere by Lime Crime but with this it is more grey and less of a neutral colour. It goes on beautifully and dries down the same time as Androgny does.

Neither of the shades feels drying on the lips in fact I don't really feel them on my lips. I recommend applying lip balm underneath these liquid lipsticks to take care of your lips and to make sure not to over apply. After one coat I am sorted, it doesn't crack or sit in any lines which is a big plus for me.

In terms of wear time this will last me all day, as long I am not eating any oily foods it stays pretty well. Before I wrap this review up we need to appreciate the packaging. From the pink and gold box to the stars all over the liquid lipstick. And even that pink metallic lettering it all looks expensive and very true to Jeffree's brand.

The whole collection ranges in intensity from a white shade to black, red to nude, even bright blue giving you that Breakfast at Tiffany's look to perfection. Everyone can find a shade for them in this range. Jeffree has also brought his shades out into a lipstick form incase you aren't a huge fan of the liquid lipstick effect.

His brand is created and distributed in America so at first they were difficult to get a hold of. If you don't mind paying the extra for shipping you can buy directly from his website here with them charged at $18 plus shipping. Or you can get them on BeautyBay for £16 and free shipping. With BeautyBay make sure to always be checking as it can take a while sometimes for their website to update.

All round I love these, from the shade range to the formula I really can't complain I couldn't believe how well these have worked. My favourite out of the two has to be Androgyny as it is such a unique shade.

If there are any liquid lipsticks that you have been loving or even some of Jeffree's comment them down below.
