Introducing Veleza

Image
What would you say if I told you there was an app that combines makeup reviews, makeup looks and just a nice community of people all in one app?
The 21st Century has finally caught up with the makeup world and an app has been created for all the makeup lovers out there. Introducing Veleza, this app is a new discovery for me but god I love it.

The app offers the ability to comment, post, and rate products. Call it the social media for makeup lovers. From showing everyone your makeup of the day to what you use to take the day off, the opportunities are endless. The more you review and rate products you'll be given an expert rating, depending on how many products you review and rate. I am currently an expert in Makeup Removers and Highlighters and others.
From all these reviews and posts you earn gems. These collect up and put you under different levels. It gets quite addictive once you first go on the app as you are met with such a warm and welcoming community. The community really i…

Is The BeautyBlender Really Worth It?

Image
When it comes to makeup application I don't tend to change my brushes often, yes I try to stick to cleaning them roughly every 2-3 weeks but in terms of what I use my set of tools is pretty standard. One of the die hard pieces I can't not use on my everyday makeup is the beauty blender. You've probably heard endless things about this little gadget. Incase you haven't allow me to enlighten you about this beauty.

The beauty blender is a makeup blending sponge that blends your makeup beautifully into the skin, it can change the way your foundation and overall face looks significantly. You just need to run this under the tap for a couple of seconds until it is damp and then it is good to go. I have gone through about 3 beauty blenders in the past year and a half.

Honestly I can't look back from using it, the sponge works so well and if you clean it right and care for it properly you can get an awful lot of wear. I only recently bought my third one as I got a little Chris…

Urban Decay All-Nighter Foundation First Impressions

Image
After testing out a lot of foundations in the past year, I've started to grasp a better idea of the foundations that work best for my face and give the look I wanted. For the warmer months I am leaning more towards the Make Up For Ever HD Foundation for the lightweight medium coverage it gives. But whilst we are still in the colder months I'm looking for something with a bit more coverage. So I decided to test out the Urban Decay All-Nighter foundation.

This is a full coverage matte finish and oil free foundation that claims to last all day and creates a flawless base for your foundation. I picked it up in the shade 1.5 which is a perfect match for me. Urban Decay feature a fairly big range of shades so hopefully there is enough for everyone.

Because of how full the coverage is you only need one pump which helps to save a lot of product as I use foundation almost everyday. I find this foundation works best with a beauty blender as it helps to distribute the product without mak…

NYX Warm Neutrals Ultimate Eyeshadow Palette- Review

Image
If you've been on my blog before you will have at least once heard me mention the NYX liquid suede lipsticks. I haven't tried an awful lot from NYX in the past but after a Boxing day shopping trip I picked up a few things from them including one of their 16 shadow eyeshadow palette. I got mine in Warm Neutral as this features some warm shades that I thought would be good for the moment as we are still in that Winter stage.

The packaging is just your standard plastic casing which is pretty common for drugstore packaging. I prefer this compared to the cardboard like packaging brands such as Barry M and Collection use as this seems to be a lot more durable. One downside with this packaging however is that there is no mirror with it. With a big palette like this it would be nice to have a mirror included as it makes travelling with this and my other makeup a lot easier. Because this features so many shadows that I wouldn't need to take another palette with me having a mirror …

2016: It's Been An Odd Year

Image
I wanted to do a more detailed post to the one I did a couple of days ago about 2016. I want to reflect on the past year more with you all. I don't tend to put much of my personal life on here which is good/bad thing. This blog has always been my side project, something that I enjoy doing and would love to have it as my career one day properly. There is a lot that happens behind the scenes of a blog post, from the endless nights that I spend deciding whether to post or not to the actual motivation sometimes to get organised.

And looking back at 2016, it's been a bit of a year. A lot has changed for me this past year I've ventured into that scary political wide world and faced University and the aspect of meeting new people all over again. I've also found (brace yourself for the cliche) myself. I feel like I am at a point where I mentally and physically feel okay, I feel confident I'm happy with the way I look and I'm ready to carry on with this. This has been a…
