March Favourites

The months seem to be going past quicker and quicker, it's nice to finally see the sun staying all day and to see the days staying lighter for longer. As I write this I have the warm sun on me and it's honestly such a nice way to start the warm weather. In terms of products I have been trying out a fair few new products, jumped back to an old favourite so I thought I would kick off with the old favourite first.

You wouldn't know me well if you didn't know I am obsessed with the NYX Liquid Suede lipsticks, I have a fair few of them and my collection is constantly growing. I have been finding myself reaching towards the shade Sandstorm recently. It is the off mauve shade that really helps to brighten my face as well as keeping my lips moisturised. This has a dewy finish as it doesn't dry down fully matte. Normally I hate the glossy creamy feel of lipsticks sometimes but with this I actually like it. It sits on my lips and doesn't move around and stays on even after food. I honestly couldn't live without this it works so well. They retail for £6.50 and they are constantly adding more shades to their collection so definitely check them out.

Moving on to the new products, I thought I would start with a perfume. I don't tend to switch up my perfumes often so when I want a new one I really do my research. I had been eyeing up this fragrance for a long time and I really considered buying it for a long time. It's the Marc Jacobs Decadence Perfume. I have never really owned a true designer perfume so this was a proud moment for me. I got this as a Christmas present and I am loving it so much. First off the packaging, from the velvet green box that just already makes it look fancy to the bottle itself. I am really a fan of the handbag concept with this bottle. The little tassle and holder really dresses up the bottle. I love the 50's inspiration that went into the design of the bottle. Moving onto the scent, it is quite strong and not really a sweet scent. It smells a lot like rose and amber which is such an incredible scent when done right. This perfume retails for £64.99 for the 50ml which is the smallest size to feature the bag details. I am very lucky to have this perfume and have been loving it for the past couple of months. The scent stays all day and doesn't wash away so definitely check this out.

For makeup, I have been trying out the Maybelline EyeStudio Colour Tattoo 24 Hour Creamy Mattes Gel Eyeshadows. I used to see people raving about these then they kind of disappeared for a while. I decided on a 3 for 2 offer at Boots to finally give them a chance. I picked up the shade Creme de Rose as I wanted to try one as a base for my eyes. I used to use MAC paint pot in painterly but I really struggled to use it as I found it really drying. I apply this using my finger making sure it is really blended onto my eyelid. I love using this on it's own or as a base at the shade is just slightly darker than my eyelids. It's great for days when I want my makeup to be simple or when I want to build up it a bit more. This seriously helps to keep my eyeshadow on as it is such a strong base. It lasts all day and does smudge or crease throughout the day. For just £4.99 I was so surprised by how well this worked. They have a strong range of shades from the natural to bright blue and plums so seriously check these out.

Last for the favourites is a tanning product I have been trying. I never used to be a fan of fake tanning as I tended to hold a tan from Summer holidays pretty well. But I really wanted to see what it would look like if I did tan a bit. I picked up the St Tropez Self Tan Express Bronze Mousse. I didn't want to go too brown so I wanted something I could gradually build up. All you have to do is work this into your skin making sure you really blend it in well using a fake tan mitt and then leave it for up to 2 hours. I tend to apply a thin layer and leave it on for about an hour and a half. You wash it off in the shower and it develops over night. I love that I don't have to go to bed with that sticky feeling and it doesn't have that horrible scent that lingers either. For me this lasts for around a week before I need to re-do it. I tend to scrub off all my tan that's left and then use this. Making sure my skin is nice and clean. You only need a tiny amount which I really like as this is up there in price. For 200ml it is £33 which is pricey but Boots often have this on offer and miniatures are available if you don't want to buy a massive bottle straight away. As I only use this once a week I am gonna be having this can for a while.
