Best Spots in Manchester for a Good Old Drink

I'm surprised I've never really covered this before, but in the past year I've ventured out a bit and gone around town looking for the best places for a drink, from cocktails to ciders there's a range of places across Manchester that deserve a bit of a spotlight. I like a mixture of drinks and there's nothing worse than going to a new bar and choosing the same drink you have everywhere else, I like to try something different each time. So if you're looking for a new place to grab a drink take note of where am about to mention, from the Northern Quarter to Spinningfields.

First up, is Jimmy's if you're into the more indie scene of Manchester this is a great place to check out. They have a great range of cocktails, great music that you can't miss and they house a lot of gigs around the year. Some of my best gigs from the past year have been at Jimmy's and it's somewhere you really can't miss. It's a bit different to the rest on the lis…

The Rundown On My July Favourites

This past month has been pretty crazy, I have had almost a month off of University. Which has allowed me to focus on the blog a lot more. I've been able to plan more posts and get onto a better schedule with my posts. I thought that it would be a good time to give you all the rundown on what things I've been loving this past month.

First up I thought we should talk about an app for a second, Buffer. And before the eyes start rolling and the people start scrolling this isn't a sponsored post. I found this app through bloglovin, it's a social media organisation app that has made my life a lot easier. I don't constantly have the time to post on my Twitter and google plus so it's a lot easier to have an app like this that allows me to schedule post. I have the free version that allows me to schedule 5 posts per day which for me is more than enough. I don't like to be the person that posts every 10 seconds about their blog so having a couple of posts each day is…

The Summer Accessories You Need In Your Life

First off, cherry earrings are a m u s t. This Summer I decided to embrace fashion and accessories a lot more. I wanted to start incorporating more pieces into my wardrobe and really start to play with the colour wheel. Most days I am a creaure of habit and stick with simple black but there's a lot of days now where I want to experiment with colour. Adding little quirky accessories to my outfit has been a great way in doing so.

First up we're talking earrings. I have got 3 piercings in both ears and for so long I have wanted to try statement earrings for a while. I was looking all over the high street and struggled to find something that really suited me. I managed to finally find 2 pairs in Afflecks Palace £4. I am now the proud owner of these gorgeous flamingo earrings and these ever so amazing cherry earrings. These are both easy ways to tie an outfit together and really make a statement in the easiest way possible. You could style these with a simple outfit as they really d…

If I Could Design Something For A Day

The design world is always developing, there are apps and technologies being created that are beyond what we can possibly imagine. In a market that is constantly advancing and changing there's a lot of common themes with some of the new technologies we see on the market today. Convenience, Easy, and Effortless are the main ones we see. Everyone's lives are jam packed with stuff that we don't need to invest in something that's going to slow us down. For the future we need to be thinking ahead, improving methods and items that we have now for the better. I have spent a bit of time thinking about what I would spruce up and thought that today would be a good day to share with you what this 18 year old lover of makeup and anything with a pop of colour has come up with.

Some days certain things annoy you so much that you wish you could change it. As a lover of makeup I am all about products that make the application mess free and without any hassle. There are so many differen…

That Rainbow Glow You Need To Get On Board With

The holographic and rainbow trend has been taking the world by storm. The over the top out of this world highlights have graced our screens and finally there's been a collaboration between the two. As someone who is desperate for a strong and out there highlight I had to get on board with the rainbow trend.
I was scrolling through Instagram and came across the Makeup Revolution Rainbow Highlighter £4. It kind of explains itself but it's a shimmer highlight that is meant to reflect the colours of the rainbow. It isn't too bright with the colours which helps to hold the shimmer.
It's mainly blue toned which normally I don't actually mind. My most used highlights are champagne toned that compliment my skin more as they add a nice warm glow to the skin. But the blue highlight has a bit of an ice tinge to my skin that really makes the highlight blinding.
I've been applying this using a highlight brush to really buff it into the skin. Normally I only have to use one l…

The Products I Will Actually Repurchase From The Past Month

I test out a lot of products. I find myself loving them for a while and then I start to fade away from them and move onto other products. Because I try so much and change my essential items their doesn't tend to be many products that I stick to for a long while. I thought I would tell you about the products that I will actually repurchase and why.

First up is the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation £8.99. I used to love this years ago and it's been my go to foundation over the Summer. I never thought that I would rely on this so much but I've been loving the glow it adds to my skin. It's super affordable and a dream to blend and for my Summer makeup I want something that stays and keeps my face looking good. With the medium coverage it's great for Summer and I'm so happy that its lasting me through the hot and muggy days so well.

Next up we're talking about the Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick £16in Posh Spice. I have been in love with this shade for a while. It&…

Why I Think There's Always Room For More Bloggers

When I first started my blog I was influenced by so many bloggers. It was the trend of disco pants and  MAC hauls and this was the prime of blogging. Youtube was only just taking off so a blog is all people had. Nowadays people have blogs and youtube accounts, sharing everything on all their social medias. It seems that blogs have got out of the focus. Youtube and videos are more of the focus now but I think the blogging community has and always will be strong.

There is always more room for bloggers in this industry. There's so many opinions that should be added to the mix. Not every product works for people and more views are better than a few. We need more bloggers that aren't biased because of their affiliate links, more bloggers that don't jump on the bandwagon with posts making their blog sound the exact same to one you've just seen.

Originality is clear with writing, you can see straight away if someone has copied a post or not. As a community we need to stand ou…

Glowy Summer Makeup Look

So the hot weather seems to finally be hitting us which means there's all kinds of changes when it comes to my makeup. When it starts to get really hot I don't really want to be using a lot of products as it can feel quite heavy and sticky with this heat. I have changed up quite a few things that I thought I'd share with you.

For my base I've been trying out the NYX HD Primer £13. I want something that is dewy but still helps to keep my makeup on my face. This works great for prepping my skin for the rest of my makeup. This almost has a neutraliser effect as it puts a bit of a white cast over my face. At first I wasn't sure of this but it helps to neutralise my skin to cover up any redness or dark circles. Meaning I don't have to apply as much foundation and concealer later on.

For foundation I'm going back to an old favourite, I used to use this constantly years ago and I only recently went back to it. It's the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation £8.99. I have …

The Ikea Bits You Need To Pick Up For Summer

Ikea is that one place where I end up buying so much stuff I don't need. I can't look round without picking up stuff. I thought I would show you some of the things I picked up on my recent trip. They have some of the cutest stuff for Summer now.

The first thing I picked up was these glasses. They are so cute and the flamingo detail is great for Summer. They do full sized glasses as well but I thought these would be cute for Summer. Great for a nice Summer drink and sitting in the garden. I just loved the cute detailing on them and for just 75p you can't go wrong.

I also picked up this mug as well. This is such a cute mug and the detailing gives it a nice vintage feel. I would probably use this if I'm having a cup of tea as I don't tend to have a lot of hot drinks. I just loved how small and practical this was as it's not too heavy or fragile. For just 95p it was too cute not to get it.

I then decided to pick up some plants. Over the past couple of months I've …

Dealing with Anxiety: Helping It Get Better

I've never got this personal before with my blog and I think it's time I finally talk about something that has affected me for a while. Since probably the age of 13 I have suffered with Anxiety. I first started to sense that I had anxiety when I was around 12/13 I had always been a quiet kid and I spent a lot of my time by myself. I would read endless amounts of books and submerge myself in everything on my own indoors. I didn’t really like being with a lot of people and I always struggled to stick with a group of people. When secondary school came around and I was met with even more people I had never seen before, I started to change a lot. I took more notice of my body and how I looked compared to the other girls, I was often bullied quite a lot for my weight and my personality. Weird became my first name at this point. Which overtime really took a toll on me, it was difficult to get up in the morning and talk myself into going to school because what I would be faced with wa…
