If I Could Design Something For A Day

The design world is always developing, there are apps and technologies being created that are beyond what we can possibly imagine. In a market that is constantly advancing and changing there's a lot of common themes with some of the new technologies we see on the market today. Convenience, Easy, and Effortless are the main ones we see. Everyone's lives are jam packed with stuff that we don't need to invest in something that's going to slow us down. For the future we need to be thinking ahead, improving methods and items that we have now for the better. I have spent a bit of time thinking about what I would spruce up and thought that today would be a good day to share with you what this 18 year old lover of makeup and anything with a pop of colour has come up with.

Some days certain things annoy you so much that you wish you could change it. As a lover of makeup I am all about products that make the application mess free and without any hassle. There are so many different types of brushes and tools out there to help you apply your makeup but there isn't really anything out there to stop it messing up all your clothes.

As someone who has to get ready in a rush sometimes and doesn't wanna risk staining my new white shirt before or after my makeup is on my face I find myself having to do some Mission impossible moves to try and avoid any stains. I've tried the tissues as bibs job and they move too much and more often than not they don't hold the product so that it falls onto my clothes anyway.

The wonderful people at CGTrader asked me if I wanted to take part in their design competition. I loved the idea of being able to create something that would be useful for myself and other makeup lovers as well. I find that with makeup if the product can benefit you personally your understanding of what's needed is so much clearer.

I have done rough sketches for now as I am studying Psychology not an Art but the designs and name is pretty self explanatory. I'm calling it the makeup collar. It fastens around your neck and ties around the collar and chest area to help trap any makeup. When I first designed this I laughed because it reminds me a bit like a bib for babies, which in a sense it's like a bib for makeup lovers. So many parents invest their money into bibs which stop any mess from ruining their child's clothes. Why can't we do that for people who apply makeup as well.

The main culprit tended to be powders, baking uses a lot of powder which can jump back off the skin sometimes and go all over the place. There have been so many incidents where my tops have been covered in powder that it started to look a little suspicious. I wanted to create something that would make it easy to remove the powders and liquid bits of makeup off the bib. The best material would probably be a plastic material as you can easily wipe it down without any fuss.

The main reason behind this product is that we shouldn't have to limit ourselves and our makeup is make sure it's mess free. If I'm rushing in the morning I want to be able to put everything on as quickly as possible and head out the door. I don't want to be batting down my powder and using a smaller brush for areas where it might fall onto my skin. I just want to apply my makeup and love it like I always do without causing a load of mess.

I'm interested to see what everyone thinks of this idea, it's something I hear a lot of people talking about but not much seems to happen with it so comment down below what you think about it. This blog post is a part of Design Blogger Competition organized by CGTrader and I would really appreciate it if I could get some feedback on my design.

There will be a new post up on Friday on my Bloglovin page and new blog posts on here every Wednesday and Sunday

                              Until next time, Chloe!
