Best Spots in Manchester for a Good Old Drink

Image
I'm surprised I've never really covered this before, but in the past year I've ventured out a bit and gone around town looking for the best places for a drink, from cocktails to ciders there's a range of places across Manchester that deserve a bit of a spotlight. I like a mixture of drinks and there's nothing worse than going to a new bar and choosing the same drink you have everywhere else, I like to try something different each time. So if you're looking for a new place to grab a drink take note of where am about to mention, from the Northern Quarter to Spinningfields.

First up, is Jimmy's if you're into the more indie scene of Manchester this is a great place to check out. They have a great range of cocktails, great music that you can't miss and they house a lot of gigs around the year. Some of my best gigs from the past year have been at Jimmy's and it's somewhere you really can't miss. It's a bit different to the rest on the lis…

Travel Essentials: Makeup and Skincare

In a matter of days I will be in Paris. By the time you're reading this I'm actually already there so it feels weird writing something that talks about what I'm doing at this very second but yes i'm finally on holiday. I am visiting Paris and Milan for 8 days and oh boy have I been excited. I felt like that kid at Christmas as I was so eager to pack everything and get into that holiday mood. I thought that I would share my makeup and skincare essentials that I will be taking with me on holiday. They're the bits that you'd be dumb not to take with.

First off is my favourite cleanser, this is the L'Oreal Fine Flowers Cleansing Milk £5.99. I'm going to decant this as the bottle is too big to take but I love using this day and night. It leaves my skin feeling so soft and clean and helps to refresh my face at the end of the day and in those early mornings. This is quick and easy to use and this is a great to take with you as you only need this and some cotton pads.

Next up is my L'Oreal Aloe Gel Moisturiser £9.99. Again this is a love of mine it's a really lightweight moisturiser that leaves my skin feeling so good. If we've been out exploring all day I really want to make sure my skin is looked after when we get back before I hop into bed.

For makeup I'm taking the Nip and Fab Foundation £12.95, no surprise there. I'm taking a buffing brush with me for this as I find that a beauty blender applies this very heavy and I don't want to be packing on a lot of this especially if it's hot during the day. This is the perfect size for taking in your hand luggage as well so that's always amazing. I'll leave a more in-depth review of the foundation here.

Now a new product for me that I have to take with me is the Barry M illuminating Strobe Stick £4.49. I got this for my birthday and I've been loving it ever since. It's a nice blue toned highlight that applies easily within seconds and it sits on the good old cheekbones so well. I can pop a bit of this on just before we leave the hotel and I know that my makeup will stay intact.

For the eyes I'm taking the Milani Everyday Eyes Eyeshadow Palette in Earthy Elements £13. I forgot I even had this palette but I love the shimmers and that gorgeous orange shade. This is a really good holiday palette as it has those bright glowy colours to match the ever so amazing places we'll be seeing. I of course have to be pairing this with some bright lipsticks so I am taking the Maybelline Colour Sensational Matte Lipsticks £6.99 in Siren in Scarlet and Orange Danger. They're bold shades that apply beautifully and look great with a bit of a tan.

That's pretty much it for the makeup, knowing me I'll probably chuck more stuff into the bag before I go but they are the bits I've got planned to take with me. Comment below any recommendations you have for me I'd love to read them. I've got a new post up on Wednesday talking about University so stick around for that. And I have a new post up every Friday on my Bloglovin so check it all out.

                               Until next time, Chloe!
