My Goals Til The End Of The Year

WOO, I'm back, it feels weird having a bit of a break. But in all honesty it was very overdue, I'm the kind of person that finds themselves running on empty quite a bit. It's something I don't want to be like obviously, but I'm very much an 'oh well I'll find time for a break later on' rather than at the moment when I need it. It's not exactly been a relaxing sit around do nothing, it's been more of a right I have a new job so my attention needs to be on that, I'm in the world of 9-5 so it's taken me some time to find my feet and get settled into the new routine.

But I feel like I've got there now, I actually do 7 hours a day so my trick to combat that is to do add an extra hour onto my day to go to a cute cafe and get some blog posts done. And with that, I wanted to set myself some goals so that this break and time to think was for more than my return post. My blog has been very up and down over the years, it's had an up and dow…

Winter Makeup Essentials

It's time to bring out the berry tones and get that festive red lip going. I've brought out the winter makeup and got it all ready for the cold times ahead. It's getting so cold at the moment that it all needs a bit of a change. I've changed up my skincare routine and it's the makeup now to change. It's mainly all drugstore so we can be festive on a budget this Winter.

For base I've been loving going primer free and using the Garnier Rose Water Moisturiser £5.99. I normally put this on straight away when I first do my makeup and allow it a bit of time to set. I'm doing a foundation ban at the moment so I'm sticking to my full coverage concealer for now. I've been mixing between the Stila Perfecting Concealer £15 and the Collection lasting perfection concealer £4.19. The Stila one works best when I really want a bit of coverage without going as far as foundation.

For the highlight I've been switching in between my Colourpop Stole the show $8 an…

What I've Learned From The Growing Up Guide

Over the past couple of months, I've been working and creating blog posts for the Growing Up Guide. An online magazine targeted to help you in life.  Featuring lifestyle, career, appearance, university and even those pesky money troubles. There's a focus on controversial topics such as free periods, period sex, and the topic of children.

It's been such an exciting couple of months and I am excited to carry on working with the magazine. With university and work getting into the mix it's taken a bit of time to get organised. Life is a little hectic but i've managed to find the mix and get going.

I've focused on university, lifestyle, careers and even talked about periods. It's time we got more confident and shared the need to finally start talking about periods. Why should we be embarrassed or ashamed about something that is natural. The media shouldn't make this some unnatural thing and it's time we got on the issue.

I've also expressed the need to …

Where You Need To Check Out In The Manchester Christmas Markets

It's not really Christmas time until the Christmas markets come out. The stalls, food, music, and the light switch on really help make Christmas in Manchester. Every year I go and fall more and more in love with the Christmas markets. They're dotted around the centre so you're bound to get in that Christmas spirit at any point.

If you're after some good food I highly recommend the markets at the centre. Situated at the town hall there's plenty of food stalls. From prosecco and pizza to paella there's plenty of places to grab something to eat. There's also a few bars situated here where you can grab a drink and pop upstairs to see the amazing view. If you pay £2.50 you get to keep one of their cute mugs. I'm making it my mission to start collecting these are they are the cutest little mugs to have over Christmas. At the town hall there's so many stalls from gifts to decorations there's plenty of places to grab some Christmas gifts from.

If you…

Vintage Shopping- Best Places in Manchester

Vintage Shopping has become big in recent years. We're going back in time with trends and your dads jumper from the 80's is finally in fashion. But where are some of the best places to grab a bargain around Manchester. I'm here to tell you about 3 hidden gems to get those best pieces.

First up and the cheapest is The Thrift Shop. Situated on the corner of Piccadilly Gardens it's a great place to pick up the best bits. From denim to leather jackets and even old sports jerseys. They offer a deal where selected items can be bought on a 2 for 10 kind of basis. Just check out for the colour on the tag for what price it's at. Bit of a weird find but I got an old Ninja Turtles Christmas jumper from their it was one of the best bargains I have ever got from there. It's the kind of place where you'll come across more of those eccentric pieces in.

For a bit more up there in price you've got Blue Rinse. Situated just before you get into the Northern Quarter near Aff…

Winter Lipstick Essential

The nights are drawing in and it's getting colder by the day. I'm running to those cozy jumpers and getting that winter makeup out. With the makeup trends constantly shifting I thought we'd pause time for a second and talk about the lipsticks that are clinging onto me this Winter. From lipsticks to liquid lipsticks I'm keeping it very casual here today.

First up is the liquid lipstick you need to get your hands on quick. I never really did a full review of the Colourpop Liquid Lipsticks. I have 2 of the Ultra Mattes and for a quick run down they work great depending on the colour. Weird I know but the two that I have perform differently, I have limbo which is this gorgeous brown shade and it sticks to the lips and stays there like a trooper. It doesn't oxidise or run which I found my other one "Kapow" to do. It's easy to apply but I do recommend a little bit of lip balm beforehand to help your lips keep it on all day. I posted a photo of me wearing thi…

Fitness Update

It's only so long until we get into the New Year. The gym membership offers straight rolling through and you start to feel more guilty than ever for eating as much as you did. I'll be honest here. Fitness wise I haven't really been going to gym, I haven't watched what I've been eating either. Naughty of me I know but it's just not been happening. Uni, work, and general life has piled up on me and it's becoming difficult to feel motivated to go the gym. Although once I'm there it's such a positive experience that it's finding that balance to go,

Balance really is key, with the gym I find myself throwing myself into it for a strong 2 weeks. Setting these unrealistic expectations and giving up after 2 days. But here's the thing if I set a long term goal that is actually achievable maybe I'll come out the other side. Which is why I'm trying something new. Starting this week I'm planning on going to the gym at least 2 times a week. I…

The Best Places To Get Your Jeans From

Jeans are that one thing we love and hate. We dread trying them on and wearing them but oh boy do they make an outfit look good. They're an easy piece to style and they work with pretty much everything. But are we always getting the best value for money. I thought I would share with you some of the denim gems I've found on the high street.

To get it out of the way Topshop really do boss the denim scene. From the Joni to the Jamie they really go there with their styles, colours, and fits. They're a little bit above the other high street brands but with the perks of student discount it makes them a little more affordable. Some of my most worn jeans are from there and I don't regret any of them. They jump on the trends all the time so you're bound to get what you want for a decent price. Quality wise they do pretty good, I get through about 4 months of wear with my jeans before they need to be replaced with some tlc. And I finally have the good news to bear that they a…

What's Going On This Month

It's November and it feels weird that this year is almost coming to a close. So much has happened in this year and I'm excited to step back and see what I've achieved throughout these past couple of months. It's time to sit down and talk about some of the things that are coming up this month up to the end of the year.

First up is The Growing Up Guide. After the launch and successful couple of posts I thought it was about time to talk about this exciting project more. I have a few posts scheduled to go up this month and I'm in the process of writing up the Christmas posts. Oh yeah Christmas is coming. I'm excited to get into that festive spirit now that Halloween is out of the way. It's time to bring out the Christmas lights. From outfit guides to uni life there'a range of stuff coming up soon so head on over to have a look.

The Bloglovin posts are staying as well. I wanted to trial them out and see how they go and for the past 13 weeks they've been …

That Go To Makeup Guide

Not a lot tends to change in my makeup bag, I like to switch things up every now and then but it mainly kind of stays the same. I stick to old favourites but I have added some new things to the bag for this Winter so let's check it out. First off actually is a makeup bag, might sound daft but I rarely use makeup bags. I don't like to carry everything round with me so I normally throw a few things in and spend around 20 minutes searching through my bag for them. I'm just using this simple clear one from Superdrug but I am on the lookout for a nice one hopefully for Christmas.

So with the base I've been using the Max Factor Face Finity All day primer, this works to extend the wear of your foundation so this is right up my street. I've used this years back but I didn't really like it. They've changed it up a bit since I last tried it and I noticed a difference straight away. If you've read my blog before you'd know that I don't like products that …
