Best Spots in Manchester for a Good Old Drink

I'm surprised I've never really covered this before, but in the past year I've ventured out a bit and gone around town looking for the best places for a drink, from cocktails to ciders there's a range of places across Manchester that deserve a bit of a spotlight. I like a mixture of drinks and there's nothing worse than going to a new bar and choosing the same drink you have everywhere else, I like to try something different each time. So if you're looking for a new place to grab a drink take note of where am about to mention, from the Northern Quarter to Spinningfields.

First up, is Jimmy's if you're into the more indie scene of Manchester this is a great place to check out. They have a great range of cocktails, great music that you can't miss and they house a lot of gigs around the year. Some of my best gigs from the past year have been at Jimmy's and it's somewhere you really can't miss. It's a bit different to the rest on the lis…

That Scent On Everybody Is Gonna Be

It feels weird sitting here writing about perfume. I’m the least likely person to sit here and tell you all about the notes and what not inside a perfume. But I’ve fallen in love with a fragrance and I can’t not tell you about it. I took the time at Christmas to really look at something I wanted. I wanted to get a new perfume and this one got me straight away.

It’s no surprise seeing as most people are in love with it at the moment. The YSL Black Opium £50 perfume has come into my life and I’m pretty hooked. I went through a phase of not  wearing perfume and I didn’t feel any different it wasn’t something that bothered me. But there’s something about getting a slight glimpse of your perfume on you after a long day that is kind of calming.

Scent wise it’s definitely more of a smokey kind of scent. When I was younger I wanted any scent that was sweet I dread to think how I smelt when I doused myself in perfume and topped it up every 20 seconds. I apologise to anyone for those days now! With this I put it on in the morning and head out the door and I still get the scent later on in the day. It’s sunk into my favourite coat so it’s a nice scent all day.

I don’t want to believe in the whole the more you spend the better the quality jargon but I have found a winner with this. It’s a higher end perfume I like and for me it feels like a treat. It’s not that makeup remover I get each time this is something I will save up to repurchase again and again. It’s that present people automatically know what to get you.

Packaging wise I love it, the bottle has a 60’s kind of style to it. The textured black style is simplistic and I like it. It’s not in your face Look at me I’m a perfume bottle!! It’s the good in between I’m fancy but not too flashy.

Price wise this one is up there. It was an absolute bargain at Christmas as I recieved a minature Ysl rouge lipstick. And anyone who knows me knows that a tiny red lipstick will have me there in seconds. No doubt about it.

It’s the first time I’ve really liked a perfume so much to want to have it all the time. I’m intrigued to see what other perfumes are out there so give me your recommendations please! It’d be great to here your thoughts.

Until next time, Chloe!
