Best Spots in Manchester for a Good Old Drink

I'm surprised I've never really covered this before, but in the past year I've ventured out a bit and gone around town looking for the best places for a drink, from cocktails to ciders there's a range of places across Manchester that deserve a bit of a spotlight. I like a mixture of drinks and there's nothing worse than going to a new bar and choosing the same drink you have everywhere else, I like to try something different each time. So if you're looking for a new place to grab a drink take note of where am about to mention, from the Northern Quarter to Spinningfields.

First up, is Jimmy's if you're into the more indie scene of Manchester this is a great place to check out. They have a great range of cocktails, great music that you can't miss and they house a lot of gigs around the year. Some of my best gigs from the past year have been at Jimmy's and it's somewhere you really can't miss. It's a bit different to the rest on the lis…

That Bubble Mask Love

Oh here we are, yet again reviewing another face mask. For once I got this in a pretty good deal so it means I had to get it right? Praise Superdrug for the 3 for 2 deals and a free mask on top. This is a different kind of mask than the usual, it’s a Skin Republic Charcoal Bubbling Mask £5.49 which let me tell you it’s the funniest mask I have put on in a while. I’ve always wanted to try a bubbling mask and with this one having charcoal in it I was more intrigued.

I’ve got a couple of breakouts at the moment that have sadly appeared, so this was needed at the right time. Also, who doesn’t need a bit of TLC sometimes? I was on FaceTime to someone as I applied it and we both got a lot of laughs, it was nice to have some time to relax and look after my skin at the same time.

After giving my skin a good clean and a scrub I applied this mask and left it on for about 15 minutes. You have to rub the packet first to get the bubbles activated, then apply it to the face and you’ll feel the magic happening soon. It’s got a weird sensation to it, with the foaming bubbling gimmick to it there is a weird feeling to this. The longer the mask is on the more intense the bubbling gets, it’s weird to sit there and listen to it but it’s even weirder to see the transformation. The mask bubbles on both sides so it really is a weird experience.

Once the mask has done all the bubbling it can you simply take it off and massage the excess into the skin. My skin had a tight feel to it afterwards, there aren’t many masks that can really leave a firming effect on my skin but this made it even have a little glow as well. In terms of those breakouts, it really helped to calm them down, I haven’t had anymore appear since and the results this mask has left my skin it is dreamy. It all seems to work great with my skin and has really helped give it a change.

Overall, I’m really impressed with this. It’s a new kind of mask for me, it’s something that looked after my skin and made me laugh at the same time. I wouldn’t use this a lot as I think the effect would wear off quite quickly. But it’s a great thing to use every now and then if my skin needs a quick bit of love this comes in handy.

Let me know if you’ve tried a bubbling mask before? I really want to get into them and see if they really have an effect. Let me know what your picks and misses are

Until next time, Chloe!
