My Goals Til The End Of The Year

WOO, I'm back, it feels weird having a bit of a break. But in all honesty it was very overdue, I'm the kind of person that finds themselves running on empty quite a bit. It's something I don't want to be like obviously, but I'm very much an 'oh well I'll find time for a break later on' rather than at the moment when I need it. It's not exactly been a relaxing sit around do nothing, it's been more of a right I have a new job so my attention needs to be on that, I'm in the world of 9-5 so it's taken me some time to find my feet and get settled into the new routine.

But I feel like I've got there now, I actually do 7 hours a day so my trick to combat that is to do add an extra hour onto my day to go to a cute cafe and get some blog posts done. And with that, I wanted to set myself some goals so that this break and time to think was for more than my return post. My blog has been very up and down over the years, it's had an up and dow…

New In Beauty Bits: Yeah or Meh

The beauty world is bringing out the bad boys and I cannot wait for what's the come, from new makeup to skincare it's all new and exciting and there's a real whirlwind of stuff coming out. I thought I'd take a second to mention them all but do it a little different, Jasminetalksbeauty does a similar thing on her Instagram where she talks about new products and if she would purchase them or not. When I buy so much stuff to review it becomes hard to use everything up so instead of buying it for the sake of it let's talk about if it's something I should actually buy and review.

Urban Decay Cherry Collection
First up is a new exciting palette from Urban Decay, now I love a bit of cherry and when I heard about this a couple weeks ago I couldn't wait. After the successful heat collection, they've brought out a cherry range packed with an eyeshadow palette to die for, a highlighter and blush palette, some ever so cute lipsticks and just you wait for this a Che…

It's Time To Start Letting Go

Life is a bit shite let's be honest, unthinkable things get throw our way to the point where it can become hard to cope. Whether it's deadlines, love, friendships, the next door neighbours dog or just whatever comes our way. It can be hard to manage with some of these situations and for me personally the people around me help me get through it. I've always been someone who just needs someone there, as independent as I try to be I've always wanted someone there to vent with and have a little bit of a shoulder to cry on.

The toughest thing for me to learn is that sometimes you just have to let go, throughout the past year I've struggled to do it and the idea of it now still sets a rush of anxiety through me but it's time I took control, I've spent so long clinging onto friendships that didn't do me any good and it took a lot of time to take myself out of the situation and see what it really is. For me, a lot of what I need to work on surrounds taking myse…

Influnecers Just Why: The Beauty Community

If you've been living under a rock for the past couple of weeks you wouldn't have seen the news surrounding influencers on the American side of the pond. From brand deals to influencers being paid and essentially bought their opinion it's become an uproar. At first, I didn't want to get involved, everyone understands what's gone on the controversy surrounding it.

The term influence is a dangerous one nowadays, it automatically throws you into this box with other bloggers and YouTubers. It stereotypes you as someone who takes sponsorships because of the nice paycheck or advantage attached to it. The term influencer is originally used through marketing, it's an easy trick and it's surprising it has never been used earlier on in the industry. It's much cheaper and effective to focus on Bloggers and YouTubers nowadays. They have a wider following especially on a much younger market, in business eyes are more susceptible to easy marketing and promoting.

But …

The Pixi Skincare Surge

Skincare has been a bit hit and misses for me, I go great with it for so long and then I struggle to keep up with it and my skin just goes to pot. Especially with hormonal breakouts, my skin can get a lot thrown at it. I've dealt with scarring, texture, breakouts, and a mix of oily and dry skin. I decided to spend a bit of time researching and see what I could do to help sort my skin out. It needed boosting I knew what needed to be added. After 20 minutes of browsing on Cult Beauty, I had 4 new products arrive at my door.

Glow Tonic Glow
I decided to go for stuff that still would be easier to use, and wouldn't need to be used every morning and night. I picked up a scrub, mask, acid peel, and toner to help get this skin sorted. I already have my well-loved cleanser and moisturisers but I needed the little bits in between. I picked up the Pixi Fast Flash Facial Set, packed with 3 life-saving skincare products. The ever so raved about Glow Tonic, with glycolic acid it's ready …

What CBT Did For Me

For the past couple of years, I've been looking for help, I didn't really seem to find anything that worked for me. I've always wanted to try and do it by myself, a lot of what I wanted to work on needed to be done by me. I spent a countless number of hours researching tips and people's advice and I found relaxation techniques that work, especially apps like Headspace really helped me a lot. But I needed more, I'd been on a waiting list for therapy for a while and after trying counselling at University I felt lost. I don't know what it was for me but it didn't help me feel any better, there will be a separate post on counselling one day but for me, it wasn't what I needed, I think it hindered me rather than helped me.

So, after months of being on a waiting list, I was able to start Low CBT. I was allowed 6 sessions focused on managing anxiety and low mood. For me this seemed like the perfect amount, I had a session roughly ever 1-2 weeks so it allowed m…

The Inclusive Foundation You Need

Makeup Revolution finally announced the new Conceal and Define foundation, this new product is said to go hand in hand with their already popular concealer which took the beauty world by storm. Not only have they brought out a foundation but they've even released a Supersize version of the concealer for all of us out there who used it up way too quickly. With the doe foot applicators still intact and that lovely pink metallic packaging, it was time to get these quickly and give them a go.

Shade Range
Before we talk about how they performed, let's talk about shades the price and everything nice. Makeup Revolution is known for inclusivity, their brand is for anyone no matter age, sexual orientation, or however else they define themselves as. They're here to sell makeup with no idolised image in mind, unlike other brands. This launch was meant to focus in on inclusivity, with their concealer and foundation range having 24 shades all round this is seriously good for a drugstore…

How To Bring Trainers Into Every Outfit

Trainers became a quick obsession for me, I used to absolutely live in boots and whilst my collection is still massive. Nowadays I'm more into trainers, whether it's a day out or a more of a dressed up time there are so many occasions you can wear trainers for. Whilst boots will always stay in my heart, especially with us going into Autumn I thought I would show you how I've been styling my trainers and a few outfit inspirations for you.

The Slip-On Vans: I have had so many days recently where I have needed all the comfort I can get. Getting that baggy jumper on and some comfy bottoms and then it's time for the shoes. For me, I have been living in my slip on checker-board vans. I've now even bought another pair because I find them that comfy! My others wore through to the absolute end so I needed to get a new pair so badly. For me slip on vans can go with so many outfits, you could pair them with jumper n joggers like how I'm wearing them now or you can even go…

How I'm Staying Motivated

The workplace can play a key role in our lives. We spend a significant amount of our day at work, and of course, this can really play on our motivation. Whether you're sat at a desk or in your bed it’s hard to stay on a high motivation level at all times. As a blogger, I have experienced issues with motivation in the past, especially when you are in a community where it is very self-driven. You are your own motivator and depending on the situation it can be hard to continue the motivation and want to blog. So, I decided to sit down and go through some of the ways I stay motivated at work –  whether this is an office job or one where you are focusing on the same task day in day out. Extra-curricular activities: The first thing to look at is what you do outside at work.
If you live and breathe your job, there are bound to be times where that motivation drops and you feel like you can’t do much more. In these situations, it is best to have something to look forward to, whether it’s a nic…

The Month Of Being Veggie

So I decided to try something new, it needed to be done and I just wanted to change something. For me I've always felt weird about talking about food and eating on here. It's something that's a bit taboo really, there's always gonna be the people that wanna comment on it and for me food and my lifestyle food wise isn't something i've wanted to open up about really.

But I decided to go vegetarian, the plan was for a month and now I'm almost 7 weeks in. It was originally just to see if I could do it and switch it up, I didn't go strict on myself and the 4 week plan was just to ease myself into it. I fully cut out fish and meat products, and decided to see if I could do it. For me it was more about seeing if I could change my lifestyle and really see how I would do with something different. I'd never really thought about how it would be being vegertarian in terms of eating out etc so I thought it'd share my tips and how I found it.

So the first wee…
