Best Spots in Manchester for a Good Old Drink

I'm surprised I've never really covered this before, but in the past year I've ventured out a bit and gone around town looking for the best places for a drink, from cocktails to ciders there's a range of places across Manchester that deserve a bit of a spotlight. I like a mixture of drinks and there's nothing worse than going to a new bar and choosing the same drink you have everywhere else, I like to try something different each time. So if you're looking for a new place to grab a drink take note of where am about to mention, from the Northern Quarter to Spinningfields.

First up, is Jimmy's if you're into the more indie scene of Manchester this is a great place to check out. They have a great range of cocktails, great music that you can't miss and they house a lot of gigs around the year. Some of my best gigs from the past year have been at Jimmy's and it's somewhere you really can't miss. It's a bit different to the rest on the lis…

Let's Layer With Some Accessories for Under £10

Accessories have grown on me more and more, I remember being a real hater of them. Not in a nasty way, I think it was more of a panic that I didn't know how to work them into what I wear without them clashing and the whole outfit looking like a mix match of stuff. And to some extent I feel like my outfits can be a mix match of things but there's some organisation to it and that's all that matters. I feel like accessories aren't scary once you break down and get an idea for what you like. I found that it's taken me a bit of time to include extras in, but if you just wanna stick with the basics am here to show you how to stay basic and step out of the comfort zone when you are ready.

For me the jewellery is the best part of the accessory, I've always been a bit apprehensive about having a load of rings and piercings and necklaces and here I am with 4 rings, 10 piercings, and 2 necklaces I wear on a daily basis. So accessorising isn't something I'm necessa…

What's In Ya Birchbox

I feel like this is such an old school post but after looking at it for years and weighing up all the pros and not really considering the cons I finally signed up for a Birchbox! I remember they were in for so long so many years ago and the world became filled with beauty box subscriptions. Now you can get fashion boxes, food boxes (Logs straight on to graze and gets a subscription box), and even Period boxes! There's a subscription box for everything and it was time I gave them a go.

I'd love to see what the opinions are on these beauty boxes, for me I wanted to try one to see how it went as I know a lot of them to have customisation options whereas some are a random lot of products suited for you. I think being able to customise your box to what you want and will use was a key thing for me as I want to reduce waste and say au revoir to any products I won't have any real use for.

With Birchbox and other subscription companies, they often ask you to fill out a short questi…

Am Giving Up On Love For A Bit

In a few ways, it makes me sad to say that, it's a weird thing to announce but it's something I'm holding myself to. I did a post a good couple of months ago talking all about love the issues of not finding the right person and all that. But since then I've come to the conclusions that I don't think am looking for the right thing and finding someone isn't ideal for me right now.

I deleted all the dating apps back in November and I had been speaking to someone and going on dates up until February. The day before Valentines in fact, then I asked if it would be going any further and got hit with the let's just be mates line. I struggled to shrug this off and carry on for a bit and at first, I thought oh it's natural it's happened before and I'll get over it soon. But there was something about different, I think because we had got so close to being something it felt like a ton of bricks had fallen on me, I got on with the person so well and I'd …

Don't We All Love A Bit Of Change

Now change, it happens, life happens. You'd be surprised how often things change around us, from the adverts you see to the new menus that get released. Change happens all the time but we sometimes have such a hard time adjusting to it. Whether it's moving house or moving out, to even starting a new job or college change is really such a weird thing. I didn't experience the change at first, well at least I didn't think so. What I notice now that I look back on moving out for uni, making new friends, and just my life now compared to 2-3 years ago. I realise that the actual change doesn't shock me and if anything I welcome it, but it's the anticipation that leads up to it and all the uncertainty that makes me wanna put everything on pause and hide.
And it's natural, in fact most people feel like that but it can be such an isolating thing to feel. For me anyway, I am a big dweller. I worry a lot about what will happen and what I can and can't control, even…
