Best Spots in Manchester for a Good Old Drink

I'm surprised I've never really covered this before, but in the past year I've ventured out a bit and gone around town looking for the best places for a drink, from cocktails to ciders there's a range of places across Manchester that deserve a bit of a spotlight. I like a mixture of drinks and there's nothing worse than going to a new bar and choosing the same drink you have everywhere else, I like to try something different each time. So if you're looking for a new place to grab a drink take note of where am about to mention, from the Northern Quarter to Spinningfields.

First up, is Jimmy's if you're into the more indie scene of Manchester this is a great place to check out. They have a great range of cocktails, great music that you can't miss and they house a lot of gigs around the year. Some of my best gigs from the past year have been at Jimmy's and it's somewhere you really can't miss. It's a bit different to the rest on the lis…

My Best Tips For Writing A Dissertation

I've waited for ages to be able to write this post, I wanted to do this post from the second I started my final year. However, as you can probably guess it's not easy to talk about writing a dissertation when you haven't so instead I thought I would instead wait until it was done and handed in, and actually reflect on my experience of writing a dissertation. I made a lot of notes throughout it so that I would be able to remember every aspect of it. I have mixed feelings really, it was so gain some experience in conducting my own research, with the focus being on a topic I know a lot about I was quite excited to write it.

I'll admit now, the whole experience was a whirlwind of emotions for me. One minute I was on cloud nine and I loved it all then the next I was up until 3 am rewriting a big section, whether that's the natural self-doubt in me or the pressure to get the dissertation to a good standard. I noticed myself falling in and out of love with it throughout, …

Style Chat: Let's Talk

I did a blog post on this a while back but I think style is a really big thing when it comes to fashion. I mean I guess that's obvious, brands and fashion designers work off styles and trends and as individuals whether you admit it or not everyone has their own style. I've never wanted to truly define my style, and at first, I think it was to stand out as this rebellious person who doesn't stick to a label and all that jazz. But now that I look back at that post and I think that you know what I think am still right in what I said, but since writing that post I've learnt a bit more about style. I do have a style but it's not a pigeon holed niche, it's more of a spectrum.

I think with style it can be about components, as opposed to being one word to summarise it. If I did have to summarise it in one word it'd be eclectic, I take inspiration from so much. Whether that's my mood, music, season, colours you name it. I think the main inspiration for me is my …

Podcasts, What they all about

Podcasts were all the rave a while back, it seemed like everyone had a podcast and that's all anyone listened to. At first I didn't give into the hype, but recently I've been taking more steps to do more and get out more and I've found a love for podcasts. This will sound weird but I love conversations and hearing people discuss topics, and with a podcast you can stick it on and go about your day doing whatever. I really appreciate what you can get from a podcast, whether that's learning something new or just having something in the background. I have a few podcasts i religiously listen to and I thought I'd give you a glimpse into them.

I think if I was ever to do a podcast, I'd want to cover a range of topics. I'd want there to be a focus but i also like the idea of a free flowing conversation, for me it would have to be related to beauty and fashion but also have a lifestyle aspect to it. From discussing conspiracy theories to current news, I'd wa…

Colour Refresh With Schwarzkopf Live Colour

The whole red hair phase has lasted a very long time, I always dip between dark and brighter shades throughout the year. Now that it's getting a bit warmer and the weather is getting a bit better I thought I'd try and go a bit brighter and go for switch it up a bit. I'm quite particular with what products I use on my hair and especially when it comes to dye, I normally stick with what I know and love so for me I always feel really sceptical when I want to try something new.

But as a long lover of the Schwarzkopf Live Colour range, I really love the permanent dyes as someone who doesn't want to spend all their time dyeing their hair. It stays on for a good time and really makes an impact, but I wanted something to boost the colour in between dyes. I've bought all the colour boosting shampoos and masks and they work great but I always feel like after a while they lose their touch. So I decided to put my faith into the new Schwarzkopf Live Colour XXL Stay Bright Booste…

Flat Hunting What A Joy

The closer we get to Summer, the closer I get to needing to get a flat sorted. Realistically I have months to sort this, but the anxious hopes to be organised bee that I am wants it all sorted as soon as. For me, I've dreamed of having my own place for a while, not even owning it but just getting my own space where I can live alone. It might sound like a weird want to some people but the day I get to live alone will be a glorious day.

With all this excitement and happiness comes a practical eye as well, I have to think about what I want and what I can afford. The less fun part is the afford bit as money doesn't grow on trees, well definitely not the trees I live by. At first I didn't have the clearest idea of everything that I would need to consider, but now after a bit of searching and a lot of lists (I want to do a whole blog post dedicated to just writing lists) I now have a better idea and I feel like I can give out some good advice on how to tackle the flat hunting and…

How To Wear A Statement Tee

I love a good statement tee, I think they add a real edge to an outfit and if you don't like to go too out there with your outfits they can be a really nice touch. I like to really centre an outfit around a statement tee, whether it's dressing them up with the right jeans or pairing them with a skirt or overalls they just add something to the outfit. But I think at times it can be daunting to include them, especially if your outfit already includes a few other elements out of the ordinary. I thought I would show you a few ways I have styled the statement tees to go into my outfit.

Usually, for me, I normally tuck them into pants or jeans, and for me, I like to wear pieces with a bit of edge to them. It makes your outfit more exciting and gives a focal point or at least a few focal points for people to look at. As someone who's always been self-conscious of people staring at me in the street, I came to the conclusion that I would rather have them staring at me whilst am in …

What Even Is Social Media Anymore

I remember when Instagram was full of people taking photos and adding the old camera border to it (If you remember that let me know!) and since then it's changed so much, I think even at the smaller level social media in general changes so much each year and even each month. From the introduction to more features to even the layout, god helps Instagram if they try and change anything else. But the thing is with these changes to the apps and social media, comes changes to the content creators on there.

I have had my blog's Instagram for 2 years now and it's really weird to think about. I scrolled back down to my first few posts the other day and it's so interesting to see the difference. I still use my bedding as the best background and it still has a fairly casual approach to it. Whether or not you think an Instagram should be professional or casual, mine has definitely changed over the years. But with that, my attitude on the whole social media thing has changed.

I st…
