Best Spots in Manchester for a Good Old Drink

I'm surprised I've never really covered this before, but in the past year I've ventured out a bit and gone around town looking for the best places for a drink, from cocktails to ciders there's a range of places across Manchester that deserve a bit of a spotlight. I like a mixture of drinks and there's nothing worse than going to a new bar and choosing the same drink you have everywhere else, I like to try something different each time. So if you're looking for a new place to grab a drink take note of where am about to mention, from the Northern Quarter to Spinningfields.

First up, is Jimmy's if you're into the more indie scene of Manchester this is a great place to check out. They have a great range of cocktails, great music that you can't miss and they house a lot of gigs around the year. Some of my best gigs from the past year have been at Jimmy's and it's somewhere you really can't miss. It's a bit different to the rest on the lis…

Here's Why Everyone Should Get The Choice

Choice, it's a simple thing when you break it down. It's your decision, impacts you or could impact others but most importantly it's yours. However, despite this there's a sudden decision to strip that choice away from people. If you've not been aware of the recent news, parts of America and Ireland are relentless to make Abortions illegal. The element of choice is being stripped from people, instead of leaving them with an ultimatum, risk their health and choose an unsafe procedure or be forced to continue a pregnancy and potentially raise a child they weren't prepared for. At first I didn't want to share my story, it felt hard to talk about it and as with some things in life there are just aspects of life we don't want to discuss. Whether that's just to friends or to an online audience where everyone feels the need to voice their opinions.
And although these opinions can turn negative and become a dangerous place to voice your opinion. They can als…

Birchbox 3 Months On

Subscription boxes are a weird niche, they're a nice little pick me up each month tailored to you. For me, I've always wanted to try these and for the past three months, I've been subscribed to Birchbox. Each month I've received a bunch of products and I've given my verdict on them. I thought I would review the whole service after three months of purchasing and share my loves from the boxes and the ones you could definitely miss out on.

The boxes overall have been good, there hasn't been any in which I haven't been disappointed. The service offers boxes tailored to you, after filling out a quick questionnaire it helps to tailor the products to you. What I've found throughout the boxes is it's normally 1 or 2 products that you will receive that might be different to what other people receive. This means there isn't that much personalisation around the box and what you get.

However, I feel like the products in there, for the most part, are tailore…

The Confessions Of A Final Year Student

It's finally the end, well almost not quite but apart from the looming exams I'm getting towards the end and it feels so good. Everyone always says that the stretch between exams and your dissertation is hell on Earth, I didn't think this would be the case at all but I can vouch for everyone and say that it's the most intense time of my whole degree. I started the final year feeling great and confident and I was slowly met with the rude awakening of pressure, I feel like the pressure stems into three main areas.

1. Career: If I had a pound for every time I panicked about what I was going to do afterwards I would actually be rich, I am a known worrier and it was difficult for me to not feel like my life was falling apart when I initially started applying for jobs. Getting the rejection email always got to me and I found myself feeling so low that I struggled to feel like I was ever going to get anywhere. I'd heard a lot of people say that I'll find one when the …

Nasty Gal Realness

*Afiiliate links

Nasty Gal, an online shop I know all too well. Great quality pieces that suit my ever-changing style, although it's fast fashion I find that a lot of the pieces I pick up from there really last the test of time. I am taking more consideration into what I'm buying and whether it is something I could see lasting in my wardrobe for a long time. For me I feel like t-shirts and dresses are the main things I buy from fast fashion sites, they last for the longest and everybody needs some good t-shirts to switch between. With the consistent discount codes I thought I would showcase some of my favourite bits from NastyGal, budget friendly fashion that can last the length of time.

I thought today I would feature some real good slogan tees, they're one of my most frequently bought items off NastyGal and you can never go wrong with one. Some of my favourite tees of all time are a good old band tee. They get softed after each wear and they're the kind of thing ever…

What's With All The Full Coverage

Full coverage this, full coverage that it's everywhere at the moment! We seem to crave every beauty product to provide 100% coverage. Brands are buying into this want and ensuring everything gives off this 'flawless' coverage, products such as the controversial Tarte Shape Tape and the Makeup Revolution Conceal and Define foundation and concealer are raved in the beauty community for their amazing 'skin blurring' coverage. And although i'll hold up and say the Conceal and Define range by Makeup Revolution is a god send, is not all just getting a bit silly now.

It's almost as if it's not good enough to have natural skin anymore, trends in the Beauty community really do stick around for a long time. From wavy brows to holographic highlighters to soap brows the lot, it all stays with us and brands buy into it and keep the trend alive. I never thought I would say that coverage would be a trend, but at the moment it seems like everyone is desperate for a bit…

Are We Really Getting All Eco-Friendly?

Climate change is real before you start to roll your eyes and go off this post. From the work of Extinction Rebellion and other protest groups, the message for change is getting louder. To the point where roads are being blocked and we have no choice but to accept what we're doing to the planet, however, haven't we always been aware of it?. In primary school 'reuse, reduce, recycle' was practically tattooed into our heads.

But some people might not realise how quickly this will affect us, but let's remember that we aren't meant to be having heatwaves at the moment. Oh yeah, it might be great to have a nice pink gin and lemonade outside with the girls and get your snapchat and insta loaded with photos but we also get the downside where we have woodland fires in the UK. Let me remind you all the UK is meant to piss it down not have fires and blazing heat you aren't in Benidorm.

But what are companies doing to make a change? You've probably seen that Mcdonal…
