Week 7 - Best and Worst Foundations

Hello everyone

Today's post is Week 7 of the '8 Weeks of Drugstore' and I honestly cannot believe that this series will be ending next week. So for this weeks post I have decided to talk about 4 foundations from the drugstores that I have tried and tested.

The four foundations that I have chosen are Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid foundation, MUA Undress Your Skin Foundation, Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation, L'Oreal True Match Foundation. All of these foundations range in not only price but in quality.

Firstly, I will be starting with the two foundations I would class as the best out of the four foundations. These are the L'Oreal True Match Foundation and the Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation.

L'Oreal True Match Foundation (£9.99)- This foundation is honestly one of my current favorite foundations it gives off a semi-matte finish which I like as well as being really easy to blend in.
Which again is something I really hope for in a foundation. This foundation is almost an exact dupe to the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation which again is a another plus. What I love mostly about it though is the price I personally feel like this should be priced higher for the quality of the product I would expect this to be around £15 but it is just under £10.

Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation (£6.99)- This foundation has been an old favorite of mine it was a foundation that I have had since I started to wear makeup I really do like this foundation and it is definitely a popular one. However I have noticed something. Now this will probably not apply to everyone but recently I have been re-doing my whole skincare routine as I was using products that I just wasn't loving etc and I noticed that since then whenever I apply this foundation is sits on my skin weird now I hadn't noticed this before and was actually
quite shocked. The foundation is still good and I would still recommend it however I feel like this foundation might not be the best for everyone's skin and since changing my skincare routine I haven't been able to wear this foundation without noticing how it doesn't sit right on my skin.

Now this is the part where I talk about the foundations that you can probably guess I have categorized them as the worse foundations out of the four I have chosen. These are the Maybelline Dream Satin Foundation and the MUA Undress Your Skin Foundation.

Maybelline Dream Satin Foundation (£7.99)- I recently reviewed this foundation and I honestly am mixed with this foundation. I personally did not love this foundation I found that is didn't give off the 100% poreless look and it appeared to go slightly orange near the end of the day. However
there are people that I know who have loved this foundation. I feel like this is the sort of foundation that will either look good on you or not and sadly for me it did not look good. The price is good and fairly reasonable especially if the foundation works for you. One thing that I did notice about this foundation is how messy it is I was constantly having to wipe excess foundation off the lid and around the bottle as the pump appeared to be faulty.

MUA Undress Your Skin Foundation (£5.00)- This foundation is not my favorite I have tried this for about two months I honestly cannot find anything to love about it. Firstly the packaging is not good the packaging has a real poor design it always dispenses way too much foundation meaning that I end up having to get rid of half of the foundation because it dispenses way too much. Also it looks very cheap which I honestly do not like. Secondly the foundation itself is not good either the shade range in poor and I don't think that barely anyone would be able to get the right foundation
shade for them from it. The foundation has no coverage whatsoever which was a huge disappointment for me, it made my face look like I had smeared paint all over it. It didn't help hide any of my spots I mean if anything it just made them stand out even more which I was not impressed with at all. I honestly could go one forever about this but I feel like I have wrote enough about this foundation for now.

So this has been Week 7 out of my '8 Weeks of Drugstore' next week which will be the final week I will be talking about the best and worst concealers and on Wednesday I will be posting my review on an eye primer by elf.

  1. Shame that the True Match doesn't work for you anymore. I love that one. Also have you tried the Rimmel Wake Me Up, that is another great one

  3. Hi Chloe, I'm currently using Loreal True Match and it's a good foundation but I find it a bit tricky to blend in seamlessly! That's why I love the Georgio Armani one, which is fail safe in my opinion :) Great reviews though!
