Is the Missguided £1 Bikini A Real Bargain

If you're an avid fast fashion buyer or you like to stay in the loop, you would have seen that Missguided released a £1 bikini: a simple black triangle shape bikini ranging from sizes 4-24. The offer is for a limited time only; releasing 1000s onto the website each day. For some, this might sound like heaven. A cheap bikini perfect for Summer: a great staple. It even beats the prices of Primark and other brands promising cheap affordable clothing.

But how much of a bargain is this bikini for the consumer and the producers, when the bikini is only £1. This brings the question, how much is it really costing to make it? Are they really making a profit or are they shortchanging the suppliers and the workers behind that £1 bikini? When we break the bikini down it's all about polyester, which is largely unsustainable and harms the planet massively. So, if it's really worth that one photo of you on an inflatable in Greece then you do you, but for the rest of us, I think it's …

The Drugstore Dupe to Porefessional ?

Hello everyone

Last year, there was a product from Maybelline that had a lot of controversy. It is the Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser. This is a primer that is meant to reduce pores and make them almost invisble resulting in you having 'baby skin'.

I have had this primer since February and I have been wanting to review if for a while so I decided to compare it with the Benefit Porefessional which in my opinion is the best pore reducing primer. In my opinion both primers do work but one does it a lot better than the other.

First of the packaging, the Maybelline one has quite vibrant and 'loud' packaging which is one of the things that drew me to the product. However the name itself is what really draws you in. The idea of having Baby skin from an £7.99 primer sounds a bit too much to be true, but is it?

The packaging for the Benefit is my personal favorite out of the two packaging's, the packaging is quite modern and has this baby blue and white theme on the packaging. My favorite part about it is how it fits with the name as there is a woman that is meant to be a 'porefessional' which is a very good play on words if I am being honest.

Next up the product itself, with the Maybelline one is very odd. I found that it worked better as just being a normal base before my foundation rather than being a pore reducing primer. I noticed that after I applied it only seemed to make my pores look slightly less visible which I was pretty annoyed about because of all the positive reviews I have seen on the primer.

Whereas with the Benefit Porefessional it actually works a lot better. I noticed that within a minute of applying the primer my pores were barely visible which was something I was so relived to see. The primer leaves my skin feeling soft and works as an amazing base for my foundation.

As well as the difference in quality there is also a massive difference in price. The Maybelline Baby Skin is £7.99 which is not bad for a drugstore primer and it does work as a really good base. The Porefessional primer is around £24 which some people would say is a lot of money which in a way I agree but the product works so well and lasts for months also because the product is good and works paying a little extra is not as bad when you think about it.

Overall I personally love the Benefit one a lot more it works better and has an overall nice finish. I hope people have enjoyed this post I wanted to do something a bit different and I hope people like this and maybe I can do more posts similar to this in the future. So On Friday I will be giving you my tips and tricks on how to master mascara and next Wednesday I will be reviewing a heat protectant spray from Tresemme so don't forget to check them out.

Thanks for reading!

  1. I agree I love the Benefit Porefessional more than the Baby Skin as I feel the baby skin doesn't really do anything for me!
