September Loves - Makeup and Skincare

Apart from clothes, September has also been the month when I have started to invest into some new makeup and skincare. Going into different brands and really 'testing the waters' with new makeup looks.

Up first, is one of the products I have probably been impressed with the most. Not just because of how good the product is, but how much I actually doubted it. This is the Collection Extreme 24 Hour Eyeliner.  This black felt tip eyeliner claims to stay for 24 hours creating a jet black look.

Now, I am not an expert on eyeliner or how to apply it properly yet. But this is honestly great, I find that it isn't one of the easiest eyeliners to apply especially if you are just a beginner. However, the intensity of this is great I find that as long as I don't apply it too fine the color payoff is jet black which honestly was something I wasn't expecting. For £2.99 I was expecting it to be flaky, smudge easy, and not to be very black at all. I was so wrong, this is handy if you want to create a fairly thick cat eye. If you want quite a thin line then I suggest definitely practicing with this liner a bit. Either way I am in love with this liner and have been pretty much everyday!

Next up is a product which is a bit unusual for me. Whenever it comes to haircare I prefer to just stick to the basics - same shampoo, conditioner, dry shampoo etc. But I noticed that as its getting into Autumn and I am becoming less and less happy with spending an hour straightening or styling my hair. I am finding myself just scraping it all into a bun of sort and just going out straight away.

So I decided to give my hair that little bit of Tlc that it needed and bought a hair mask, I picked up the Tresemme Keratin Smooth hair mask. This claims to help make frizzy hair straight and smooth. I have seriously frizzy hair so for me sadly this product hasn't really helped to make it straight. More importantly it has helped to keep my hair smooth and I have noticed that my hair hasn't appeared to get damaged in fact my hair looks quite healthy considering the state it has been in this past month.

The hair mask retails for £5.78 for 300ml. Now some people may say that this is fairly expensive for something you should only be using once/twice a week. But I actually bought this in August but didn't really try it out until September and I have almost half of the tub left. So although it may be a
little pricey for some people you definitely won't run out of it straight away.

The last product I am going to be mentioning for today is a face cleanser. This is from a range by Boots that I had never really looked at properly. It's the Botanics Mattifying Foam Face wash. This face wash is induced with willowbark and lemon. Claiming to cleanse, clarify, and reduce any excess oil from the face.

I have been using this twice a day, applying one pump of this onto my cleansing brush then, applying it all around my face. Making sure that I am removing any dirt or makeup that is still on my skin. I find that this always leaves my skin feeling soft, the lemon inside it helps to make my skin have that fresh feel to it as well.

The cleanser retails for £3.99 for 150ml which is fairly cheap although you only get 150ml. But the product has a pump meaning that unlike most cleansers you don't really have a chance of getting too much product unless you use more than one pump.

Overall, I have fell in love with this cleanser and it has definitely replaced my previous clean and clear cleanser that I used to love.

These are just some of the things that I have been loving through September. I am going to make a sort of promise here that towards the end of each month I will make one or more posts about my favorites within that month. I found it quite interesting to look back at all the stuff I have been trying this past month and then having to chop it down to the things that have stood out for me the whole time.

Anyway, until next time! Chloe
