First Impressions - Benefit Precisely, My Brow Pencil

Benefit recently launched their new and improved brow collection. Whilst browsing through duty free and coming across their beautifully displayed stand I managed to pick up one of the products to try from their collection. The Precisely, my brow pencil in the shade Medium (4.)

The pencil comes with two ends, a spoolie on one end and the pencil at the top of the product. This pencil provides a rich smudge proof color with a custom control grip. It claims to last up to 12 hours whilst being waterproof giving you natural defined looking brows.

In terms of colors, they have 6 shades to match your eyebrows. There are more darker shades than light which seems to be pretty standard with most eyebrow pencils these days. For me I struggled a little bit as I have colored hair meaning that I wanted dark eyebrows but not so dark that it looked weird against my skin. I found that the difference between 3 and 4 were a mile apart. I bit the bullet and went for 4 as I could just use fewer product to get the brow color to match.

In terms of application the pencil was a little rough on the first use, as it is a non-sharpened tip I was a little surprised by this. It doesn't have that soft feel like the Soap and Glory Brow Archery pencil has. I did little strokes, filling in the gaps within my brows. And then used the spoolie end to blend it through my brows and to put them into my desired shape. Again the spoolie seemed to be a little hard at first. But after filling them in I was seriously impressed by how they looked.

I wanted to really check all the claims for this product so firstly I applied it first thing when I woke up at 9am, went into the pool for a few hours went out for lunch and then got ready to go out again at night. Throughout the day I noticed that after being in the pool not much of the product was left, you could see the outline of where the pencil had been. It didn't look horrendous but it definitely didn't look like it did when I first applied it. When I looked again after 9pm giving it the full 12 hour wear I noticed that the faint outline I had before was still there.

I will admit that expecting the product to last 12 hours+ whilst going into a pool can be a big ask. But for a new product to claim 2 things as big as this it is important to still test the claims. But after those two tests I am impressed by the product.

The last part I want to talk about is the packaging, Benefit are known for their different and sweet packaging and this product was no exception. Personally I like it a lot, I thought at first that it would just be a bit fiddly and I will admit it isn't the easiest product to stand up. But to have as an item in your makeup drawer or maybe on a vanity it is an eye catching design. Also to mention how lightweight this product feels as well. I was expecting by the lids on either ends that it would weigh the product down a little and make it uncomfortable to use but it works in their favor in fact.

Overall I am impressed by this product. For £18.50 it definitely is up there in price compared to drugstore eyebrow pencils. Would I re-purchase this again? Probably, the finish is good and it does last for quite a while. I am just hoping to get a lot of use out of it first before I have to re-purchase another one.

Well there was my first impression on one of the new benefit eyebrow products. If you like any other of their products from that collection or have any other products you would like to recommend me to try feel free to comment them down below.

                                                      Until next time, Chloe!
