The month of August has been a whirlwind, from getting into Uni and then turning 18 within a couple of days this has been an eventful month to say the least. I have been venturing more into makeup as I have had a bit of free time on my hands in between work and my now existing social life. I haven't been trying an awful lot of new things that I am ready to report back to you on yet but I have revisited some old favourites.
First up is the Soap and Glory SuperCat Liner, a couple of months back I stopped using this as I wanted to try some different eyeliners to try and find the best one. And I have definitely found one that is good enough for the price. But nothing really compares to this as much, it is that jet black colour that is easy enough to apply on the eye and doesn't smudge or move at anytime during the day. If I could nit pick I would recommend practicing with the pen first as it is a bit thicker than most eyeliners these days but if you practice enough you can get a really precise wing. For £6 you really can't complain.
In terms of my base I haven't changed an awful lot with it except my foundation and bronzer. For foundation I have been testing out the Urban Decay Naked Liquid Foundation, this is a seriously lightweight foundation that takes a little bit of time to blend to a medium coverage. For the days when I don't want as much of a heavy face this works wonders. I would prefer if it had a little bit more coverage but it is buildable. This is a lightweight foundation that dries down to a semi-matte finish that I can easily set and leave with setting spray and a bit of powder. For £27 this can be quite pricey if you are after a high coverage foundation but because it stays on so well and easy enough to build up I don't mind paying the price for it. The way I see it the key to good makeup is a good base so if you pay more on your base than the rest it isn't that bad.
In terms of bronzer I have normally tried to stick with a contour shade as I like to just dust it around the outside of my face to add a bit of depth and colour. Whilst on holiday I didn't take an awful lot of makeup and ended up buying the Bourgois Mat Illusion bronzer in Hale Clair. This is a light bronzer shade that builds up quite quickly so I recommend apply a small amount first blend that in and see if you are happy enough before adding a lot first. This tends to stay on all day and doesn't go muddy throughout the day. For £7.99 you can get quite a lot for your money, I have been using this practically everyday since the middle of July and have barely even made a dent in this.
These are just a few of my monthly favourites I have been loving for the past month, I hope you have found some products here that could become your next favourite. If you have any products that you are loving at the moment feel free to comment them down below.
Until next time, Chloe!
