Best Spots in Manchester for a Good Old Drink

I'm surprised I've never really covered this before, but in the past year I've ventured out a bit and gone around town looking for the best places for a drink, from cocktails to ciders there's a range of places across Manchester that deserve a bit of a spotlight. I like a mixture of drinks and there's nothing worse than going to a new bar and choosing the same drink you have everywhere else, I like to try something different each time. So if you're looking for a new place to grab a drink take note of where am about to mention, from the Northern Quarter to Spinningfields.

First up, is Jimmy's if you're into the more indie scene of Manchester this is a great place to check out. They have a great range of cocktails, great music that you can't miss and they house a lot of gigs around the year. Some of my best gigs from the past year have been at Jimmy's and it's somewhere you really can't miss. It's a bit different to the rest on the lis…

The Lock It Primer Promise- Kat Von D Lock-It Primer

If you have been living under a rock for the past year then you may not know that tattoo artist Kat Von D released her own makeup line. Feauting contour palettes to eyeshadows, liquid lips to concealers she has brought out almost a full range of products. Some of her most recent products added to the collection are the Lock it Foundation and the pairing Primer. At the moment her products aren't officially in stores in the Uk but you can buy them online through Debenhams. I didn't want to go through the hassle of trying to match my shade online for the foundation so I just picked up the primer first to give that a go.

I started testing this primer with a new foundation as all my other foundations had been tried and tested on my skin for quite some time so I didn't expect the results to be any different than normal. The primer claims to be a hydrating base for your makeup to sit on. What is odd is that there is nothing on the packaging itself which really talks about what the…

Life Update- Why I'm not doing Blogmas, and University

A couple of months ago I shared that I was off to University. I got into my first university my accommodation was sorted and I was ready to go. It's been around 10 weeks into University now and it's been a bit of a ride. On one hand it's the best decision I have made yet and my passion for Psychology has grown so much. But on the other hand I have been more stressed than ever before with the workload and managing my job around this. It's been difficult trying to organise everything around each other. Especially with my blog, for the past 2 years this has always been a passion of mine. I never wanted to write or rush posts I wasn't purely happy about just to make sure I don't miss a day. But even doing posts in advance I haven't been able to keep on track properly.

I decided to miss a post and look at my blog, I spent some time looking at my blog. Seeing what I was happy and unhappy about, my main issue is that I want to post less frequent. I don't want t…

Christmas Gift Guide Part 2 - Main Present Ideas

This week I am back again with more Christmas present ideas, I have focused on main present this weeks that someone in your life is bound to love. I have picked out three present ideas that would be a great choice as a main present.

First up is a set by Soap and Glory, if you are a big fan of Soap and Glory like me then I highly suggest asking for a lot of their sets this Christmas. The value for money is insane and it's always good to stock up on your most loved products. The Soap and Glory Soaper Star set is a great little present idea. For just £15 you get three of their products full sized and two minatures of their hand and foot creams. The price of each of these alone is at least double the price of this set. So I highly recommend getting these for someone to stock up on or even get one for yourself.

If you want to get a gift more suited for the home then Yankee Candle have brought out a great bundle set. This is their Christmas collection that includes one large Yankee cand…

Seventeen Palette Easy on the Eye Birthday Suit - Hit or Miss

Seventeen is a Boots owned makeup brand. They offer low price alternatives to more expensive makeup products on the high street. From nail polish to foundations they offer a lot of variety. I recently picked up one of their eyeshadow palettes as I had always been curious about the brand. I have tried a concealer and powder of theirs before and were fairly impressed with them as cheap alternatives to my more expensive makeup products.

I picked up the Seventeen Easy on the Eye Birthday Suit Eyeshadow Palette £7.99. This features 11 eyeshadow shades ranging from matte to shimmer and also an eyeshadow primer. This is a more of a neutral golden palette which is good for Christmas parties and nights out or even one to save for Spring and Summer.

I tend to use quite a lot of shimmers as I tend to go quite bold on my eyes and pair that with a soft lip. My two favourite shades from this palette are the two last shadows, the beige and shimmer pink shade. These two shades blend the best out of t…

Christmas Gift Guide Part 1 - Stocking Fillers

It seems like each day we are getting closer and closer to Christmas. With Bonfire Night and Halloween been and gone it's time to get into the Christmas spirit. As I did last year I gave you gift giving ideas that didn't break the bank but were still great gifts. I am doing it again this year but instead rather than doing it specifically for boys, girls, and that special someone I will be showing you 5 gifts in this first part that are great little stocking fillers.

First up is something not necessarily a stocking filler but instead something to help get you in the Christmas mood. Not on the high street recently released personalised Advent Calendars. From Pork Scratchings to Tea there is quite a detailed range. My personal favourites from the collections are the Bath Bomb and Soap Advent Calendar by Berylune £30  and the Peel the Sprout Advent Calendar by Doodlebugz £9.99. Now the bath bomb and soap advent calendar is fairly expensive for a novelty gift but it is a good idea …

Zoeva Palette - The Cool Spectrum Hit Of The Shadows

Ever waned to venture into the bright purple eyeshadow look or even rock a mermaid blue eye? Majority of people nowadays tend to go for the softer more neutral looks and hide far in the corner away from brighter colours. But what about if you could get a palette that combined your most loved neutrals and those bright colours you will be dying to try. All this comes from the Zoeva Cool Spectrum eyeshadow palette.

Featuring 15 shades from mattes to shimmer this palette really features everything. The fact that this has mainly neutral shades means that you can use this as a day and night palette. Having a neutral eye during the day then popping a bit of that purple onto the lid makes it into a night eye look.
The palette features a pure bright white shade which I tend to use towards the inner corner of the lid to brighten my eyes. And with most palettes it also features a pure charcoal black colour that can be used to create a smokey eye or if you want it can give that messy eyeliner type…

Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipsticks Hit or Miss

If you have never heard of Jeffree Stars Velour Liquid Lipsticks then allow me to educate you. Jeffree is an internet hit from having a previous music career to creating his own makeup and clothing line. He is a controversial person but my review today is going to be on his liquid lipsticks. I own two currently, one of his most famous and sold out shades Androgny and Posh Spice.
Focusing on Androgny this is a weird shade to describe, it's in between that red/mauve shade that has a slight pink undertone to it. If you have ever seen any of my previous posts you will know that I love experimenting with weird colours and this is a new one to add to my list. This goes on quite soft and before drying it feels like a lipstick. It takes a good 20 seconds to try so I normally apply a little bit of setting spray to my face whilst this dries. Once it has dried down the colour is brilliant. It is a rock hard matte that isn't too bright or out there. The look is subtle but with it being suc…

October Favourites

It feels like each month is going quicker and quicker. With me being up to my eyes with assignments and essay I thought I would take a 30 minute break from it all and tell you about my favourites from the past month. I have been testing a few new products this month so let's kick off with the skincare.

Starting with cleansers I recently picked up the Garner Oil Infused Water £3.99 on offer usually £5.99. This is a new take on their famous micellar water instead it is packed with oils that help to deep clean and remove dirt and makeup quite quickly. I tend to find that one cotton pad of this gets it all off there is a slight residue left by this so I tend to wipe my face with a wet cotton pad afterwards just to remove any excess. After cleansing my skin feels clean and from using this for the past month I have noticed a huge difference in my skin. It looks and feels cleaner and has a bit more of a colour to it then just generally looking dull and dirty. This is quick and convenient …
