As I like to try a lot of new products quite often I do come across products that don't work for me or just aren't really my cup of tea. I try to not mention disappointing products too much as I'd rather mention the products that do work. But I thought I would share with you some of the products that just really haven't worked out for me incase you are thinking on trying them.
First up is the Soap and Glory Thick and Fast Mascara. I used to love this mascara a while ago but whenever I use it now I just can't stand it. This is a really thick mascara like it says and it builds up my lashes quickly but because the wand isn't curved to suit your eye more I have to use about 2-3 coats to get all my lashes. By this point my lashes are all crispy and flakey and it ruins my whole makeup once that's done. If the mascara wand was curved I would probably find this a lot easier to use I just personally do not like really clumpy mascaras.
Next up is a primer, now I haven't tried many Bourjois primers before so I was excited to try their new Happy Light Primer. I liked the idea of this because I don't want a primer that is too heavy on my skin so I thought this would be good, and the idea of a radiant glow is really good for Spring and Summer. But the texture of this just isn't for me. I find that I have to use a lot of it otherwise my skin feels really drying. It works well with my makeup and lets it stay on all day but I just don't like how it feels on my face personally.
The last bits of makeup I have are two eyeliners from H&M. Now I tried a lot of their makeup and I've been really impressed by the quality and price of it. I decided to pick up these eyeliners because they weren't the typical colours and I really wanted to start experimenting with different coloured eyeliners. I picked up a gold one and one that look like a dark green to try out first and I really can't work with these. They come with a brush applicator that goes across the lid fine but the actual liner itself is so watery that it runs the minute you let it go on your eye. I struggled to use this properly without having to spend a good amount of time redoing it. Once it's on my eyes it lasts fairly well but I had to keep checking throughout the day that it hadn't washed away as it felt so watery on my eyes.
The last product I'm mentioning today is the BeautyBlender Cleansing Oil. I received a sample of this a while ago and I don't understand the hype around it. I really tried to like the product but for me the oil just isn't for me. It helps to clean my blender fairly well but I wouldn't say this is any better than the Baby Shampoo I use already for my makeup brushes. Also the scent on the oil lingers for a while and the beauty blender takes a while to dry up from all the oil which personally I'm not a fan of. If I was you I wouldn't spend my money on this and invest in another makeup brush cleanser.
So there are some of my recent disappointing products, as always just because these products didn't work for me doesn't mean they may not be good for you. It's often a case of what you're after and like from a product. If you want to see more of the products that didn't work out for me comment down below.
Until next time, Chloe!
