Birchbox 3 Months On

Image
Subscription boxes are a weird niche, they're a nice little pick me up each month tailored to you. For me, I've always wanted to try these and for the past three months, I've been subscribed to Birchbox. Each month I've received a bunch of products and I've given my verdict on them. I thought I would review the whole service after three months of purchasing and share my loves from the boxes and the ones you could definitely miss out on.

The boxes overall have been good, there hasn't been any in which I haven't been disappointed. The service offers boxes tailored to you, after filling out a quick questionnaire it helps to tailor the products to you. What I've found throughout the boxes is it's normally 1 or 2 products that you will receive that might be different to what other people receive. This means there isn't that much personalisation around the box and what you get.

However, I feel like the products in there, for the most part, are tailore…

Drugstore Summer Makeup Look

As it's starting to get warmer I thought I would really get a bit brighter with my makeup. Yellow is a big trend this summer so I decided to incorporate this into a eye look that is purely drugstore. I am really joying do these little looks for you guys and can't wait to do more soon.

To really bring the yellow in I'm gonna be using the NYX Hot Single Pan Eyeshadow in STFU £2.50 this is a bright out there yellow that is perfect for this look. It's a buildable shadow which with this kind of colour I prefer because I can get it to the intensity I want. The shadow itself wears pretty good, it lasts about 6 hours without any primer and with it's about 10-12 hours so it does a grand job there.

I normally use a primer for my eyes, especially with it being so hot at the moment I don't want my makeup to sweat off. For a primer I am using again the Maybelline 24 Hour Tattoo Cream Eyeshadow in Creme De Rose £5.99. I mentioned this in my previous look post and I honestly am obsessed with it. I give this a couple of minutes to set then go in with the shadow. I'm applying this all over the lid and building it up as I go. I like to drag this out to my crease to make sure it really makes a statement.

To help clean it up I'm using the neutral beige shade from my NYX Warm Neutrals Palette £16 and applying this just near the crease. This just helps to make sure the shadow doesn't transfer. From the same palette I'm using this gold shade and applying a little of this in my inner corner and along the waterline to add a bit of shimmer.

For this look I carried the yellow shimmer down onto my waterline and fluffed this out. I then lined my eyes with my trust Soap and Glory Supercat Liner £6.50. I tried to go for a classic kind of cat wing as I didn't want to overpower the shadow. To finish off the eyes I used my Maybelline Lash Sensational Waterproof Mascara £8.99, making sure to really bring out the lower lashes.

Now that the eyes are done I wanted to pair it with a nice lip as well. I went for the Jeffree Star Liquid Lipstick in the shade Posh Spice £16. This is a brilliant mauve shade that really helps to draw the attention to my eyes rather than my lips constantly.

And that's how I did the Summer look, I hope you guys have liked it and I will be back soon with some more makeup looks.

Until next time, Chloe!
