Glowy Summer Makeup Look
So the hot weather seems to finally be hitting us which means there's all kinds of changes when it comes to my makeup. When it starts to get really hot I don't really want to be using a lot of products as it can feel quite heavy and sticky with this heat. I have changed up quite a few things that I thought I'd share with you.
For my base I've been trying out the NYX HD Primer £13. I want something that is dewy but still helps to keep my makeup on my face. This works great for prepping my skin for the rest of my makeup. This almost has a neutraliser effect as it puts a bit of a white cast over my face. At first I wasn't sure of this but it helps to neutralise my skin to cover up any redness or dark circles. Meaning I don't have to apply as much foundation and concealer later on.
For foundation I'm going back to an old favourite, I used to use this constantly years ago and I only recently went back to it. It's the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation £8.99. I have the shade 103 true ivory which is a perfect match for me. I love how this brightens up my skin and isn't too matte. It allows my skin to breathe and as the name would suggest it wakes my skin up a bit.
The rest of my makeup is the same standard products I have used for the longest time. If you want to see a more in-depth look into those I'll leave the link here. But I have been trying to use my new highlighters. In last weeks post I raved about the Colourpop Super Shock Highlighters $8 and I can't get enough. They allow me to really add a lot of glow to my look. I've been switching between the shades to help brighten up my face and really go for that glowy look.
For the eyes I haven't been going too crazy. To get that summer bronzed look I've been using a lot of neutrals and gold tones. They help to open up my eyes and really give a nice look to my makeup. I've found myself falling in love with the Zoeva Rose Gold Palette £18. This has a great range of shimmers that work great with a good primer and a smooth base.
To set all of this I've been using my trusty Rimmel Stay Matte Powder £3.99. I have been using the translucent shade to make sure it doesn't add any extra colour to my makeup. This is great for setting the under eyes and just generally making sure my face doesn't get too oily.
And that's it for my Summer makeup look. I love incorporating neutral and gold shades to really bring a glow to my skin. If you want some more makeup looks comment down below. Soon I will be posting two times a week like I used to so watch out for that!
Until next time, Chloe!
