That Go To Makeup Guide

Not a lot tends to change in my makeup bag, I like to switch things up every now and then but it mainly kind of stays the same. I stick to old favourites but I have added some new things to the bag for this Winter so let's check it out. First off actually is a makeup bag, might sound daft but I rarely use makeup bags. I don't like to carry everything round with me so I normally throw a few things in and spend around 20 minutes searching through my bag for them. I'm just using this simple clear one from Superdrug but I am on the lookout for a nice one hopefully for Christmas.

So with the base I've been using the Max Factor Face Finity All day primer, this works to extend the wear of your foundation so this is right up my street. I've used this years back but I didn't really like it. They've changed it up a bit since I last tried it and I noticed a difference straight away. If you've read my blog before you'd know that I don't like products that take a while to get going. I don't always have time in the morning to sit there and wait for it to work so something like is ideal now that it gets to work a bit quicker.

This is silicone based but it doesn't feel like it's a new layer above my face. This sinks into the skin nicely and helps to sort out a bit of dry skin I have at the moment. I normally only use one pump of this as the primer is quite thick you don't need to use a lot.

Once my base is done it's time for a different foundation. Yes you heard that I'm finally switching up foundations. As much as I love my Nip + Fab foundation it's time to try something different. I thought I would check out the update L'Oreal True Match foundation. For a drugstore foundation this really does deliver, their shade range is one of the best for drugstore and in terms of wear this does a pretty good job. This is more of a medium finish but it really does work well all day long. And for someone who doesn't like to touch up a lot throughout the day this is a good thing to have on hand.

Now it wouldn't be a good drugstore makeup kit if I didn't have that trusty Collection concealer. This works great under the eyes as it brightens it all up a little bit. It's also an amazing base for eyeshadow so make sure you are using this less than £5 wonder.

Bronzer has stayed the same but a new highlighter has made it's way in. Yep the Barry M Liquid highlighting drops are here to stay. I've given these a good try and I really like them. They aren't super blinding but I think in Winter I want something a little softer. It gives a nice glow and under all the warm lights it works perfectly.

For brows I've actually tried something different. I'm trying to keep my brows natural and just fill them in where is really necessary. And I've actually been using an eyeshadow. The NYX Ultimate Warm Neutrals Palette has this brown shade which is a spot on colour for my brows if not a little darker. I just buff this in using an angled brush and it sorts my brows out straight away. The staying power of this is insane as well so definitely give it a try if it's the right shade for you.

On the eyes I've fell in love with the Barry M Autumnal palette which we already know about. But I've found myself wanting a lot of shimmer at the moment. I must really want to get all festive right now. I Heart Makeup £7.99have brought out this shimmer palette of dreams . They have this gorgeous rose gold shade that has been an absolute dream to have on the eyes recently.

For lipstick there's not been much change, so there we have it. Let me know down below what your makeup staples are at the moment. You can see what I'm loving on my Instagram and Twitter and also see my weekly favourites on my Bloglovin page.

Until next time, Chloe!
