Birchbox 3 Months On

Image
Subscription boxes are a weird niche, they're a nice little pick me up each month tailored to you. For me, I've always wanted to try these and for the past three months, I've been subscribed to Birchbox. Each month I've received a bunch of products and I've given my verdict on them. I thought I would review the whole service after three months of purchasing and share my loves from the boxes and the ones you could definitely miss out on.

The boxes overall have been good, there hasn't been any in which I haven't been disappointed. The service offers boxes tailored to you, after filling out a quick questionnaire it helps to tailor the products to you. What I've found throughout the boxes is it's normally 1 or 2 products that you will receive that might be different to what other people receive. This means there isn't that much personalisation around the box and what you get.

However, I feel like the products in there, for the most part, are tailore…

Simple Skincare Rundown

Skincare is always a little side love of mine. There's not a face mask I won't try nor is there a spot treatment that goes unused. I try to not fill my routine with too much as let's be realistic I'm not going to apply 40 products to my face every night if I've just got back from a long day/night. I try to keep it with the essentials and then with anything that I want as an extra. The tea tree oil, of course, has stayed center stage but there are some others that have entered my life.

Here's the routine, use the L'Oreal Fine Flower Cleansing Milk £4.15 to get the makeup off. Now I am on my second bottle and it's going to be hard to stop me using this I love it. It's easy to use and it has some serious power in it. I normally use this at night and do a little top up in the morning depending on how my skin feels.

After it's all been washed off I go in with a little scrub. The L'Oreal Pure Clay Glow Scrub £5.99 this is a gentle day to day scrub that can be used as a leave on mask. It works to give your skin that needed glow and it's my go to every night before bed. It's great to just get any last bits of makeup off and helps to exfoliate the skin and remove any dead skin. I tend to get a lot of whiteheads and this works great to bring them down. I mentioned that you can use this as a leave on the mask and I normally do this once a week. For about 15 minutes I leave it on the skin and it goes into a clay consistency. It helps to top up the skin and get it on it's way to a good glow.

My skin can feel a little dry sometimes after this so I like to go in with a moisturizer as soon as possible. Before I do that I like to apply a little bit of tea tree oil to any spots. I normally do this every other night as it can make my skin quite oily but it helps to settle any spots down. You can get tea tree oil from anywhere. I have actually just repurchased the Eden Semilla one and it is a dream.

Then to go in with the moisturizer and finish the routine off I'm sticking with the Garnier Moisture Bomb Hydrating Night Cream £5.29. This moisturizer is one of the best ones I have used in a long time, from that dreamy gel consistency to the refreshed feel it leaves on my face. This really is the bomb, I haven't found myself reaching for anything like this in such a long time it's that one of a kind moisturizer that I am clinging onto.

There we have it, simple easy skincare rundown. I have masks as well that I will use throughout the week but I thought we'd keep that for another time. If you want to see what beauty and skincare faves are taking my fancy at the moment you can check out my Twitter where I'll be showcasing the ever so long skincare wishlist I've got going on at the moment.

Until next time, Chloe!
