Birchbox 3 Months On

Subscription boxes are a weird niche, they're a nice little pick me up each month tailored to you. For me, I've always wanted to try these and for the past three months, I've been subscribed to Birchbox. Each month I've received a bunch of products and I've given my verdict on them. I thought I would review the whole service after three months of purchasing and share my loves from the boxes and the ones you could definitely miss out on.

The boxes overall have been good, there hasn't been any in which I haven't been disappointed. The service offers boxes tailored to you, after filling out a quick questionnaire it helps to tailor the products to you. What I've found throughout the boxes is it's normally 1 or 2 products that you will receive that might be different to what other people receive. This means there isn't that much personalisation around the box and what you get.

However, I feel like the products in there, for the most part, are tailore…

Let's Throw it Back To 5 Years Ago

Looking back at the photos of younger me it's weird to see the changes. From my hair color to makeup, even to the eyebrows, I seem to have finally grown. My advice now is never plucked or even try to shave your eyebrows! let someone else do it. I tried to remove a few stray hairs with a razor and it was a full Angus Thongs n Perfect Snogging moment. What we can appreciate though is the development of my Makeup. I've gone from very minimal looks to finally step out of the box, it's good to see some of the brands I used to use are still alive and kicking. So I thought it would be good to go through some of the old bits of makeup that you can still get and have a look through some of my old looks.

First off, there seemed to be a real need for lipstick when I was younger. I remember using my pocket money to buy a new lipstick every couple of weeks. I didn't really buy a lot of nude lipsticks I found them all too peachy. I did, however, fall for a Rimmel one, the Rimmel Kate Lasting Finish Lipstick 03 £5.49. I had a thing for really orangey lipsticks, not too sure why I was into it but at least we've evolved now. I also became obsessed with a Collection dark vampy lip, closest one to it was to Plum Sensation £2.99

I had a real love for high raised brows, I wanted those almost semi-circle brows. It was a weird love for mine which I didn't understand and let's just say I'm much happier I didn't carry on with that for much longer as it's taken years to get my brows back. And now almost 5 years later I almost have my ideal brows. I'm going to do another post soon all about my brows and what you really shouldn't do to them.

Another love of mine was overdrawn lips, I remember being obsessed with an enhanced cupid bow. I have a fairly defined lip, to begin with so overdrawing wasn't needed but it was clearly a want of mine. It was before the lip filler craze happened when I was in love with a dark lip and very simple makeup.

Surprisingly I used to hate eyeliner, I could never get the hang of it and it just never looked right on me. If I'm doing eyeliner I want there to be big lashes as well, it can't just be one or the other I like to get them together. I remember spending so much of my money on eyeliners that just did not work for me, it was so hard to find ones that actually worked for me well.

The one thing I would probably still do now is blue eyeshadow looks, I always had baby blue eyeshadow on and oh boy I would go back to that anyday. It's something I loved then and who wouldn't love a bit of pastel blue nowadays.

What were your favorite makeup looks from when you were younger, we all remember the Maybelline dream matte mousse. What other looks did everyone remember, comment down below what you used to love.

Until next time, Chloe!
